How many to Wigan?

We rarely take a massive following to Wigan compared to Preston or Bolton.
Only on two occasions have we taken over 3K.

Remember a game around 2016 when we only took around 200!
A night match the following season only attracted less than a 1000
Why would you point that out when you knew it was the boycott years? It's something a Preston fan would say having an unvalid dig at us

Looks better in tangerine don't you think?

It was boycott at home!
As long as it was POTG then no funds to them.
I know some fans did a complete boycott but too many Fair Weather fans were making excuses and having a pop.
Just look at the reaction after our defeat at Leyton Orient. Many had decided not to attend a game again whilst Critchley was in control. How many would have travelled to Wembley next month! It would have been embarrassing.
How many would we be taking if we lost at Northampton and failed to beat Shrewsbury.

The reason for the low turnout at Wigan (200) was the weather was horrendous and only a late inspection decided the game was on. It was the Saturday before Christmas and we were crap and Wigan top. Expected a heavy defeat and we won.

Listen to the commentator in the first minute or so🙄

I speak facts, unlike some on here
Im surprised they did that in such a crucial game. Looking at it that was a game to basically win the league and gain promotion, congratulations on taking a load. It's not that difficult to do that in such circumstances.

It doesn't change the point that you'd get only just more than that for some home games in league 1 or took less to Blackburn in the championship fairly recently, even closer by citing price of 30 quid I think as a factor, so clearly price and circumstances matter.

30 quid for a league 1 game today is madness IMO but fast becoming the new norm.

Okay mate, we'll leave it there. I can't be arsed going down a rabbit hole 😉

The reason was because the overwhelming majority of us were boycotting. Simple as that really.

A few people justified going to Away Games (which was their prerogative) but most people engaged in a complete boycott.

Otherwise there’d have been a couple of thousand or more, depending on circumstances.

For me I had to switch off completely, couldn't be half in half out.

We weren’t boycotting at start of season 14/15 when less than a thousand turned up for a Championship game.

You may not have been Boycotting… I can assure you that plenty of us were.
There was no boycott at the time and many had been conned into buying Season tickets. “Riga Revolution”
The real reason for low turnout is because we were crap and unorganised thanks to Owner and Management

We started the season with half a squad. Some fans didn’t buy into the Riga Revolution… I went against my better judgement and bought a 1 year ST, but then given the pre-season farce with Riga, I didn’t attend a single game (apart from Cardiff - Where we did the Walk Out Protest - and Jez ‘We Are Not Thieves’) and Burnley where some of us had planned a protest. The season obviously culminated with the Huddersfield game.

I’m not going to debate with you as you’ve obviously got no idea what was going on at the time, but I can assure you that fans (and plenty of them - many of whom were ‘Away - Regulars’ ) were definitely Boycotting as well as looking for any opportunity to protest and raise awareness.

It is from that group of fans that the whole NAPM ‘thing’ came about.

Nothing to do with the poor results and everything to do with the 'Managed Decline' and Oyston Antics.

Wigan have shit support.

That was very early April.

We were top, they were second or third but pushing us close, nothing was decided that night.

There were 15,000 on and like I said, around 7,000 were from Preston.

Agree with you regarding pricing.

It was basically a decider, or so say the reports.

"Bristol City losing at the same time meant the Lilywhites surged to seven points clear at the top, practically putting them out of reach."

So it was basically a playoff game or a game to seal promotion.

Mods can we not get rid of this clown OWTW fecking match day thread as well get him gone FFS.

Why isn’t he on his own match day board FFS?

Grow up.

Plenty of posters just giving it back, no harm in it.

It’s not like I’m constantly on here is it🙄

No harm in it?

Then why do your mods/admin ban Pool fans for saying the same things on penisonline?

Double standards that’s what it is.

I’m just shocked W8pne is still on there the Gods must be watching over him.

3000 is a lot more than Critchley and his gutless players deserved. To play with so little passion is quite frankly a disgrace. We did the same at Bolton and Preston a couple of years back. We have to face facts that we are a million miles away from being a Championship ready side. Whilst this season isn't over I can't say I'm overly confident. The whole club needs a wake up call, we talk about identity and playing the Blackpool way, it's going to take quite a rebuild in the summer to make us genuine promotion contenders, rather than the also rans we've been this season. I'm glad of the 2 week break in honesty.

I have a bit of a crack every now and then.

I try not to push my luck😄👍🏻

I can’t comment on PNE Online as I don’t go on it.
