How much for Dembele?

He's played 38 games in 4 seasons, most of them as bit part substitution appearances. He's completely unproven in every respect and has been hit and miss in many of his 15 Blackpool appearances and is lightweight in the extreme. A luxury player who is nice to have without a doubt.

I really do think some people watch too much Sky Sports News and are away with the fairies in relation to Dembele.
If you speak to a ticket office, they may be able to find you a seat that faces the pitch.

What an absolute load of bollocks. Deary me.

Brest sent him to England because they don't want him or rate him. He went in their door and straight back out after a few games. Brest is no bigger a club than us.

"Muti million euro deal". What a load of walloping nonsense.

Blackpool fans like a player who has played 39 games in 4 years at 3 clubs, most of which as a substitute, in fact nearly all, and yet because he's a little jinky guy they are valuing him at "multi millions". I give up.

I hope Brest officials haven't read this crap!
Some proper tits running that club

I might be ignorant and out of line here, but the club sitting 4th in Ligue 1 and poised to qualify for Europe next year are probably a bit bigger than us at the moment.

They did send him on loan to us because they don’t rate him, but he’s been electric and will have certainly attracted interest from at least a few Championship clubs.

He has two more years left on his contract, if they still don’t want him they’ll be demanding £3-5 million minimum as he’s still only 20.

His value on TransferMarkt before coming here was 500k, after some of his performances that’s easily up to £1m, factor in his young age and contract not ending until 2026 and you’ve probably got a valuation near £3m if not more.

It’s not impossible if we get promoted, but highly unlikely.

I said it in a thread awhile ago, and I will say it again; if we sign him on a permanent I will personally buy a season ticket next year and donate it to someone.

Well, if another 5999 exiles do that it'll be 2.1m extra into the pot towards his fee, so a lot more realistic then.

Good shout, exiles, you know what you must now do.

They might demand it, but tell me any player with no significant experience above League 1 who has attracted that sort of fee?
Ivan Toney left Posh for £6m, Rob Dickie left Oxford for £3m, Sam McCallum left Coventry for £4m.

All those players transferred within the last 5 years out of League 1, they’re more common than you think.

Fair play, that's more than I expected (without checking the legitimacy of the fees). Its still only 3 players though. So more common than I thought but certainly not a frequent occurrence

It depends on how he performs for the rest of the season. He's had 5 assists in his last 7 and will likely get a few goals too, if he keeps going at that rate he'll command a big fee at the end of the season.

If a 20 year old player gets 15+ assists and close to 10 goals there'll be a few Championship clubs willing to pay 2-3 mill. There are clubs with parachute payments who'd pay that for a squad player.

I think 2m is on the high side, but when you think thay Carlisle want 1m for Moxon it might now be thay far off. Not everyone is willing to take 50p and a sausage roll like we have been in the past.
The English Market is way overpriced compared to abroad.

If he’s worth 2 million then it’s excellent business by Brest. Sign him on a free, deemed not good enough, even for them, then sell him for millions!

You're probably fair to point out that he hasn't consistently played anywhere else yet in his young career so probably has to keep proving it. But this 'luxury player' label gets thrown about a bit too much for my liking. He's not a luxury, he is vital to our team. Our attack is sorely lacking without him. We are far more dangerous and threatening with him, he completely unlocks CJ playing next to him and is constantly playing in Rhodes.
