How poor are we?

Are the players really that bad or has the 3 at the back, constant team changes, poor predictable subs just totally sapped the confidence of the players.
I felt the effort was there last night but a total lack of belief.

I think we gave the players too much credit in the summer with our expectations of a quick return to the Championship. That said, the tactics have certainly played a part and we aren't getting anywhere close to the levels some are capable of. I just look at our transfer business and the likes of Norburn, Morgan, Joseph and Pennington, they've all had good games but have been very inconsistent. Then we have the likes of Lyons who has been so poor, it is unbelievable.
 
But, last night aside, it’s the bottom-half teams that we have been routinely losing to.
Even a draw against Burton, Cambridge, Stevenage, Cheltenham and Port Vale would have us a point off the Play Offs.
 
I think its a bit of everything. Tactics and formation isnt helping us but the players are not as good as a lot think they are either.
We are where we should be. We are a 6th - 10th placed team. We have some really good games and show promise and also some games where we get totally exposed and schooled.
 
League position says it all. Not quite good enough for top six in a season where the top four are, I suspect, as good as any League One teams in recent seasons.

We are only capable of playing to our optimum if we are allowed time and space. Unable to force our style on physical teams or teams who are capable of swift passing and movement.

To finish mid table, as we may well do, would be a failure.
 
Don't think changing team every game is helpng as well as the way we set up ,how can players gel as a team when they know that the next game barring critchleys favourites they won't be playing ,pick a settled team and play the formation that suits the players we have ,it's obvious that the current formation is not working,
