Today we got shown a very harsh lesson in football.
And sad as I say this, but Dougall has been garbage all season and has been somehow getting in ahead of Connolly who is much better off the ball, and probably better on the ball. Kenny looks lost. He’s not the player we had last season. All he does is call for the ball, then play it to Grimshaw or one of the centre backs. Failing that, he makes a hospital pass. I counted ten times today he made a terrible pass, two of them ended with a goal.
Likewise with Husband. As a left sided centre back, I rate him. But as a left back, well… my mate and I went to Bolton away b4 Covid and even then (against a poor Bolton side) I said he was terrible at left back and when I see his name there, I actually groan.
Otherwise, I would say most of the team did ok. Grimmy lost his head for some reason. Either the Sky cameras or Maxwell being on the bench but he was a different player today. He didn’t look like a man, more a young inexperienced player. Probably down to nerves and he hardly ever makes a mistake so I won’t be harsh on him.

Madine does what he does but as much as I love Jerry, he simply never gets a chance and when he does he wants about 10 touches and tries to out think the defenders. But these aren’t league one defenders, some of these are extremely good and it’s showing to be difficult for Jerry now. We should go with Shayne, rest Jerry and let him try to get his composure or confidence back. I hope he can come good again, but I’m not sure which is a shame bcoz he works his socks off.

Clinical finishing by Forest today. Something we don’t have (except Shayne).

Great to see Keshi back and Keogh on the bench. Plus as much as I hate Forest fans and still find it hilarious such a big club got beat by us 12 years ago, there fans were a laugh today and great support from them.

End of season now, let’s try out new things huh?

Forest's eyes must of lit up when they saw how bad we were on the left side of defence. Statuesque and after you Claude type defending from Husband and Co. This has to be rectified before Tuesday's match vs Preston or there will be more arseholes torn.

We were off the pace today…. A combination of a long break and playing a side who simply out-matched us man for man. Their finishing was clinical at times and to be fair, once we were chasing the game we opened ourselves up to conceding a few. 1-2 would have been a fair result.

It’s hard to single out players, because too many were off the pace today. For me only Kevin Stewart and Dujon Stirling come out of the game with any credit.

Yates had a great chance to score 2nd half but took too many touches & played for a Pen instead
One of the handicaps of our season has been not taking chances and Yates has when played been a let down despite however hard he works in other areas. It takes the pressure off the defensive mid and defenders. Don’t agree that Dougall has been shite all season….not been at his absolute best agreed.

I think it's been the easiest post match analysis for a long time, which you summed up in a couple of sentences, and probably for once we all just about agree.
Just what we need, within a relatively limited budget, from what is available, for next season is going to be a really difficult problem to solve.

Yep… We said the same walking away from the ground. Quite what we do next season to improve, apart from some significant investment, is going to be tough..

You can't slate Dougall on here, it's the law.

I said back in August that a Barnsley supporting mate of mine said when we signed Dougall, he isn't good enough for the Championship but a good League One player. I got slated for it. When you go up a league, players need to up their game and he hasn't done that. Yes he will have better games but far too often he's played similar to yesterday. Ian Evatt for example improved as we went up the leagues, Kenny needs to look at someone like that.

Hes not the only one mind, but he seems to be the golden boy on here to some.

God ,are you a knobber? You have complained about a number of Blackpool players that have never played in the championship before . Players have to acclimatize . Just because Husband had a bad game over a year ago does not mean he can't do a job for us now. Lavery has struggled just as much as Yeats and you say we were outclassed . Have a look at the stats and then maybe you'll think again The only difference in these two teams were they were more clinical with their chances and they had better chances through lucky deflections and a poor ref. So go back to Dumpdale and pull their team apart because they were given a footballing lesson from relegation fodder.

Just crucify the whole squad! 🤷

No problem, Josh will go for between £5 and £10 million which will allow some decent recruiting in the areas we need.

On yesterday's performance alone I think £5mil would be a dam good price. He's got 8 more games to prove he's worth more than that. My opinion only and that's based on yesterday alone.

Bowler was not that bad, they nullified him and effectively that blunted our attack. When teams double up on him it is up to others to exploit the space but we are too pedestrian to make that work. We need to attack at speed, but too often an attacking position becomes a pass back to Grimmy.
