The action that saved the club was a judge forcing the Oystons to pay 40m to Valeri Belokon and then that same judge eventually placing the club into the hands of a receiver. Sadler was the person who offered the most money and therefore won. If somebody else had put an offer in of one pound more, as long as the paperwork was done correctly and it was a serious bid, the receiver would have had an obligation to accept that bid. Sadler didn't save us from the Oystons, but from what the rumours of who the other bidders were, I suspect he saved us from other shysters taking over and being bad for the club. Although whether he will be a good owner for the next however many years, only time will tell.
