I keep reading that Sadler saved us

The action that saved the club was a judge forcing the Oystons to pay 40m to Valeri Belokon and then that same judge eventually placing the club into the hands of a receiver. Sadler was the person who offered the most money and therefore won. If somebody else had put an offer in of one pound more, as long as the paperwork was done correctly and it was a serious bid, the receiver would have had an obligation to accept that bid. Sadler didn't save us from the Oystons, but from what the rumours of who the other bidders were, I suspect he saved us from other shysters taking over and being bad for the club. Although whether he will be a good owner for the next however many years, only time will tell.

Heard something a couple of weeks ago to suggest that SS was the ONLY one to put a bid in that involved paying money over?

Checking back over my notes with the interview I did with the receiver the way he put it there was multiple bids at the deadline of 'give us your best offer' which was sent to the few reamining serious bidders and Sadler's offer was the highest. I guess it's possible the other bids were of the likes of Owen Oyston offering £1 or BST offering £0 but I don't think I got that sense.

Who else would want to take on a loss making club? What business sense does it make. Think of the millions invested / lost during the covid season for example.
The club is currently worth more than when he bought it and the players are worth much more…pretty sure if he sold up tomorrow then he wouldn’t be out of pocket

I wouldn't hold your breath over searching questions.
It'll be all nicey nicey with the promise that it'll be all sorted by next season.
And somehow everyone will believe them!!!🤣🤣
I totally agree with you but someone should ask serious questions and question the appetite and ambition going forward.

From memory Pilley was gauging opinion and figuring out how to dump Fleetwood. There was a bloke we met who ran ports in France but he was more arsed about the airport and Sadler who at least wanted the club and not just what he could get from having it.

Never got the Belekon love in.
Him and Oyston walked away with all the Premier League money. If he actually give a shit then he'd haven given some of the 30 odd million back to the club. It wasn't his money, it belonged to the club.

I'm sure the majority of EFL clubs are loss making so I don't see why BFC is any different. I dont have any facts to back up this argument apologies, but I'd be interested to know if anyone does?

Not involved in the saving, but certainly responsible for the rebirth of the club on and off the field.
Shame on him for not getting involved in the saving of the club, with the exception of the mushers, we fans gave up so much. Was he a musher ?

Considering all of the potential scenarios that could have played out at that point, even despite the shit season and the fact he can't afford to do what PNE, Rovers, Bristol City etc etc do and lose 20-30m a year to keep us at this level, SS was almost best case scenario.

Don't think there were any billionaires lining up.

I know one person did register interest who was already owner of another club, so the receiver basically dismissed it out of hand since it breaks EFL rules. So that would line up with Pilley! (Or anyone else from the other 90 EFL clubs of course)

Well he did save us in a way, what if he never wanted to buy us, would someone else at the time???

Is no other owner getting exactly the same grief as you lot are banging on about now.....?

Apart from the top 6 in the Championship (Burnley, Sheffield etc) anything below that and their fans are kicking off
For gods sake, PNE want to sack their manager and throw out the owners....they are comfortably mid-table and had £70M in funds from Hemmings

3 Championship clubs do well each season to get promoted...and for those 3, that are doing well....There are 21 other clubs who's fans just moan
"We need more investment", "we need to buy better players", "we need to be in the Prem"..."We need cheaper tickets".

Sorry but I wouldn't give a shit what Dave from Poulton thinks or tells me how I should run the business, when his only experience is working as a welder (sorry, no offence to any welders, but you (may) get my meaning)

You can only keep up with the Middlesbrough's and Sunderland's of this world if you have millions and millions.....and Sadler doesn't
Yes, were punching above our weight
Yes were the lowest payers/budget in the Championship
Yes were reliant on buying cheap and selling on at a profit

But fuck me....give the guy a break, he's only been here for 3 years and look what he done so far....
Some of our 'fans' need to stop talking above their IQ on a daily basis
Yes were pissed off were getting relegated.....Yes, hiring a decent manager seems to be like pinning the tail on a donkey

But give Sadler some credit, he's put his money into the club.....Every club has it's up's and down's......It could be worse.......you could be a PKE fan
