Cardiff City have announced Ebou Adams as their first signing of the transfer window.
Adams, who signs on a three-year deal, represents the very first building block of what promises to be a huge squad reconstruction this summer. The central midfielder, 26, has been one of the standout players in League Two the last few seasons and was a key cog in Forest Green Rovers' wheel when they romped to the title this term.
His performances drew admiring looks from a number of Championship clubs including Blackpool who, it is understood, were incredibly active in trying to get him to Bloomfield Road. However, the 11-cap Gambia international has agreed to join the Bluebirds this summer.

“If you snooze you lose”
A bit ironic when the report says we were incredibly active in trying to land him.
He (or his agent) obviously thought Cardiff was the better option.

The season as just finished a lot of players are on holiday
Plenty of players available from june why the rush
I am sure the club knows who they want

Doubt this suddenly makes Wintle available.
Yep, I think you're right AT.
I've just had a quick look on the Cardiff board, and a few of them see him as a tackling midfielder to sit in alongside Wintle.

Sounds like he'll be more of a defensive midfielder, in which case I'm not sure why we were after him?

I hope we don't get too pissed off on AVFTT each time we miss out on a target this summer, because it may happen a few times due to us not being able to compete with the finances of almost every club in the championship. Just want to get a creative midfielder as our main target, whether Brannagan or otherwise.
UTP.

We’ll probably lose out on a few targets we’ve been linked with over the last few months and end up with others we haven’t been previously been linked with that’s football.
What was it Karl use to preach, “leave it till the last minute and players suddenly get desperate” 🤣

These players are mercenaries their agents are getting more and more money they can get to line there pockets
Fck them I would be more happy to look in the lower leagues and scotland and the irish leagues than pay big bucks for a champo bang average player and a premiership loan
Yes. Huddersfield have got to the playoffs on all free or loan players. Totally doable without spending millions

That's the way to go imo. Get some quality loans in (until we can afford to pay for very good quality players ourselves) along with the best players in the lower leagues that Critch will improve.

The thing I like about this board is the ability of some posters to spend other people's money but complain about paying their share.

We need player A , B and C, it will only cost a few million, we've already missed one;

We need a new training ground and a new east stand, half of which is already being realised and no doubt the other half will follow it will only cost a good few million;

But then again, we don't want to pay more than X for our tickets to watch the club we support!

We have a fantastic owner and a great team behind him, we have one of the best coaches in the country, we have some excellent prospects in our team and our system, we are seeing championship football, we are probably playing well above the level a smallish club should be expected to play at, yet still some are not satisfied. They have seemingly already forgotten about the barren years with the scum in charge. Just look around you at teams such as Ipswich, Sheff Wed, Sunderland, Charlton, Bolton Wanderers, Bradford, Derby, and others, all big clubs struggling in levels below us. We should be loud and proud and be thankful we have an excellent benefactor in Simon Sadler.

Be patient and I'm sure all will be well.
