iFollow Exhaustion?

I know I wrote about this last week and didn't watch Saturday's game (even though I had access to a code), but is anyone else exhausted by iFollow? I don't know if it's just the lack of crowds, the somewhat shoddy nature of the coverage, the fact we've not been very good or just the fact we have access to every Blackpool game but at the moment I'm just not feeling it.

No. Looking forward to it.

It is getting quite costly - even though I would probably spend similar on away days etc during the season. At the moment I don't plan to watch but guarantee about 6.55pm I'll be getting my credit card out! Agree though it is a pretty soulless experience.

Yep can take it or leave what I have found I'm a lot more critical than if I'd been to the game because your watching the whole match and not just following the ball.

Yesterday I decided that I wasn't going to bother with tonights match and just watch Saturdays.

By 8am this morning i'd paid for the match and now can't wait.

I'm very much behind what Critchley is doing with us and i'm confident we will click in the final third soon enough.

UTMP!

To be honest I'm the same if I have 3 games in 8 days as sometimes happens in normal times - it does get a sense of routine rather than anything 'special' about it. After Saturday I'm 50/50.

Just got my credit card statement, I've been charged for watching the Lincoln game even though I put the code in. Anyone else have this happen to them.

IFollow is too frustrating. Buffering, lag. I'll stick with it for home games, but I'll stick with social media and radio for away. I'm gonna take junior up and down the illuminations tonight with the radio on.

Rarely get to away games so looking forward to watching tonight. Might turn the audio down depending on who is commentating and how the game is going.

you can easily press the payment button when you’ve put your credit card details in before you’ve put the code in, its happened to me in one of those 'oh bollocks' moments. Hopefully with the new system being introduced by the EFL this should avoid the problem for future home games.

email ifollow@efl.com and ask for a refund, quoting your code in the letter.

Constant buffering for me. how come the Southport, Everton and Blackburn games [not I-Follow I know] were fine. Stoke and Plymouth games I got about 60 minutes each, since then just buffering.... frustrating!

I managed to reduce the buffering by adjusting the picture quality downwards. For me this stopped the buffering with a not too bad loss of video quality. You can find this at the wheel icon on the bottom right of the screen.

In some cases it won't be ifollow to blame, but the WiFi connection.

I agree the quality of ifollow should be improved but I've been using it for a couple of seasons now though a VPN prior to this season so I'm all for it and looking forward to watching tonight.
Don't forget you can watch the Youth team tomorrow night, FOR FREE, on BFC YouTube.

Had absolutely no problem whatsoever with iFollow in terms of connectivity, although I have really quick internet. Coverage-wise, it's a far cry from Sky Sports et al, but not something I mind too much as we get to watch the game and money goes to the club.

Although, I must admit, I didn't watch on Saturday. Had a really busy week with work (working from home) and decided to spend as much of my weekend as possible outdoors and away from a screen. A general lethargy with lockdown, everything going on, working from home, not being able to go on games and all of the social aspects that come with it is what dictated that for me - so do get where you're coming from.

First one I have missed really, but do see myself taking the occasional break on a weekend - especially if our form remains this patchy!

I've always wondered what it would be like to be an "armchair fan", of course prior to covid this would have never be an option with Blackpool with what leagues we usually play in so its been a nice experiment. Ultimately it doesn't compare in the slightest (could have told you that before), perhaps it'd get more exciting at the business end of the season when results mean more but I find myself not getting AS excited when we score and such.

I understand Ifollow fatigue. But the thing to note is that after the next 3 games, we dont have a league game until Sat Nov 21. So if you are happy to give the FA Cup (which might not be available anyway) and the Micky Mouse Cup a miss, there is 18 days between league games. I think I will need a break at that point if not before.

Cheers Lads, could be the wi-fi connection then, but I don't have problems with anything else.
Run fast.com on the device you are using to check your speed.
If the wi-fi is dodgy as opposed to your overall speed to your hub invest in an ethernet cable.

Ive not lost the buzz for watching Blackpool still as strong as ever ,more the Premier League games im struggling with.

Cant wait to see how we look tonight but we have to get back in these grounds now. If the EFL are not going to put any pressure on then the fans must come together and do it themselves.

The games don’t seem to last as long. But I’ve realised you miss the trip down to the ground & back plus a beer & natter. But as of yet I’ve not encountered any technical problems, picture a bit grainy but watchable.

The Blackburn game where we missed Virtue's goal because they were showing a slo-mo replay of a pigeon landing on the Matthews' stand?

as an expat i follow for all its faults (and there are many) is a real boon. Ive got into a bit of a routine, where i'll read the comments on here for 15 -20 minutes before with a little drinky and some snacks, get another just before the kick off and then im set until half time.

That must be your set up as it never lags for me.
On match days I and five others are on a what's app group chat and we are all almost ok with one that lags behind the rest of us.
I will resurrect the thread I started a few weeks ago and have a read through as its now full of suggestions to sort problems out.

Yep same here, have two season tickets and two codes and it charged me for the last match. Wrote to the EFL to complain and fell on deaf ears.

I'm finishing work early so I can get home and watch it...I'm usually excited before kick off then bored to tears and frustrated 10mins in haha

Doesn't stop us doing it again & again though, each match if we knew would win every week would be boring (chance would be a fine thing though) it's the not being sure of the outcome that makes us excited/nervous/exasperated 😀

I was charged for the Charlton match (Oct 20). Still had no reply. A number of others were also charged, no idea how much luck they've had in getting a refund. I've made a second attempt.
