On reading the thread on Huddersfield tickets I am really embarrassed and ashamed by the comments of some.
The SLO and the club are working hard to ensure that our disabled (not in a wheelchair) and our older fans not as steady on their feet anymore can attend and sit to watch away matches ie the first couple of rows, or in this case a section for people WHO DEED TO SIT. I'm aware of one 70 plus supporter who over the years travelled to most away matches now doesn't go as his health will no longer allow him to stand for 90 minutes. I'm sure we all in our families have relatives who struggle with their health??
Come on Blackpool fans show some compassion over recent years we have stood together for what's right, let's not become I'm alright f*** everyone else!!

Its easy to be honest just get in the ground early and sit at the front away from the home fans

Simples....

I have no issue with it if it works properly, but it won't as it doesn't account for online sales which are probably the majority.

It also then needs people to follow it which never happens.

If I buy online and end up in the 'seated area' what do I do? If I move im taking someone else's seats technically....

If I stand I'm then blocking people but I'm in the seats I was given.

If the away club chooses not to impose sit where your seat is why is it a fuck you mentality?

I think it would actually be easier to have unallocated seating in a lot of instances.

When things were terracing, you just basically had to get there before it got full if you wanted to get behind goal/stand with mates/ be close to pitch etc etc.

To an extent, I think allocated seating makes things more complicated and I get confused about this apparent system cos I can't see how it works - you can't actually book a specific seat/row anyway online so how do you know if you are going to get put in the notional sitting zone? (In my case, I'd really like to avoid it, so an arl fella doesn't have to climb the stand or a kid can see)

It's like we've got neither 'sit where you want' or 'order the seat you want' so argument is literally inevitable.

Even then if people move to the front they'll be people who were meant to be at the front, according to their tickets, who aren't happy and want the seats it says they have.
Barely anyone enforces a sit in your allocated seat policy. If they did, we’d have fans missing 15-20 minutes of the game and complete mayhem (especially at bigger attended games)

Our Cub probably can’t officially endorse a policy of standers to the back, sitters to the front because ‘officially’ people should sit in their allocated seats.

Whether this system will work or not, who knows ?

If the allocated block of seats is close to the front, then perhaps it might. It would help though if online tickets reflected ticket office sales and should come with advice for any ‘sitters’ to get to their seats early.

The only way it works is as you said in the other thread, if the online is on board with it, its communicated and enforced.

If not the sitters at the front is best.

I'm not sure why this has been blown out of proportion to be honest. If you buy your tickets from the club directly, they will ask you if you want to stand or sit, if you buy online, drop the club an email saying the section you want to go in. If you don't care, don't say anything. It will take 30 seconds to drop the club an email, as has been suggested. I always stand at home or away, wont be doing this game, but i genuinely cant understand why this has become an issue.

If it goes all tits up when you arrive, then surely, if you have followed the steps, then its on Huddersfield for not following the guidance they have suggested to our SLO.

Attend a lot of away games and never once had a problem finding an area where you can sit and there are no people standing. I think anyone suggesting otherwise is wrong.

I know its not like we sell out away every game

This is only an issue because the SLO thinks it is

I'm one of them 👍

We dont know the actual facts though. If we have made an issue out of it, then fair enough slate the club. BUT, if Huddersfield have stated (and i know its never actually done despite clubs saying it will be implemented) that you have to sit in your actual seat, and they will be clamping down on it, then surely this is the best way to keep everyone happy. I know i know, fans just tend to go where they want every game anyway, and yes i agree there is never really an issue at any games, but if a number of fans have shown concern due to elderly family members etc, then lets just go with it, and see what actually happens. My thought is not a lot, but it it what it is. As long as they don't turn round and say I cant sit on my sofa to watch it without the right ticket for that specific part of the sofa, then ill be happy.

I think OAP's should go on strike as that seems to be the trend nowadays.
I think you'll find some have, hence they dont go to away games, what the point in choosing a suitable seat when fans are advocating sitting anywhere they like

Why can’t people just manage to sit in an allocated seat. Why can’t adults follow a simple protocol. Why do some people have to act like petulant rebellious toddlers and not follow a few rules. ????????????
There’s a horrible sub culture that exists in society right now. Fuck everybody else because we’re doing what we want. Wankers
Thats just tough luck they will have to find other seats

Why are people so precious about sitting in their allocated seat

Its not the fcuking

Because it doesn't work at away games its that simple

Nobody necessarily ‘advocates it’ It’s just what happens and most of the time it’s impractical to do anything else.

You’d likely understand better if you went to a few away games. Easy in theory … Total mayhem in practise.

It’s fully enforced at Wembley ,seen fans ejected for standing up.

Because people go with their mates for a day out and they want to sit together, not scattered randomly across the stand.

Its nothing to do with the woes of society, for once.

BSA originally wanted Sadler to deal with this and when he said he wouldn’t they then went crying to the SLO about it.
Does anyone even sit down in the places you are suppose to as everyone looks stood up to me.

Which is the main point of the original post, which you have clearly failed to understand. As soon as a few stand up, everybody has to stand up - including those who may be not as steady on their feet, yet have paid £25-£30 for the privilege of sitting down.

It's £20 at Huddersfield

No it isn't. Many grounds try to make you sit either where your ticket says or by filling in areas at a time.
Stgke, Huddersfield both say you have to sit in your allocated seat and won't let you more around. They usually relent just before kick off, but by that time all the appropriate seating will have been over-run.
Bit of an ignorant comment TBH Phil. If you're going to spend tens of pounds on tickets, travel etc, you need to be able to make sure you can watch the game safely and in a suitable and appropriate way, not just turn up and hope for something that's ok.

Nonsense you just tell them someone is in your seat they aren’t able to move people around

Can their Teddy not see if people stand up 🙈

You really are an insensitive person aren't you. Try going to a match with someone with learning difficulties or autism, and when you get there, the jobsworth steward won't let you move despite there being two dozen pissed up fans around your seat. And the person with you is just getting stressed and upset because they don't want a conflict or an argument. This has happened to me regularly, so much so that now before an away game I contact the club's disability officer and get in writing that we can move somewhere if the seat isn't appropriate. And you wouldn't believe how many times they've actually insisted on reading the note before letting us move.
