Of course I wanted us to stay up, but we are simply not good enough. Today was bloody hopeless and it confirmed the inevitable.

I'm under no illusion League 1 will not be easy, as we will need to start from scratch. All our best players, are mainly loans and a number of the others contracts will be up.

I just want a young hungry manager who wants to play attractive football, and to be honest they can come from anywhere as long as they have passion and a desire to build something special.

I'm pretty sure that next seasons team will look nothing like the current shower, but who cares. We start again and we build for the future. It might take two or three seasons, but we've had worse adversity and we will be back, hopefully better and stronger.

No point whinging anymore, we just need to look forward and get ready for the next exciting instalment in our great clubs history.

I said something similar a couple of weeks back and today just confirmed it.

We were down the moment they gave Appleton until Jan. Should have been gone after Wigan away.
