Indian on Christmas

Has anyone ever been to the Indian on Christmas Day and what was it like? Keep seeing more and more curry houses opening Christmas Day and it always sounds appealing rather than stressing all week and eating the same food year in year out

New Years Eve is now the tradition in our house, either a visit to the Indian at 6pm or a takeaway, then into PJ's for a night on the sofa watching a box set until Jools Holland then more box sets afterwards. There is always a great selection of cheese and biscuits and we quaff a nice bottle of Port. Can't be arsed going out anymore.

Christmas Eve is more traditional…

Midnight Massala, no?
We always have a Christmas Eve party at our house, invite a few neighbours in and do something different every year, couldn't do it last year but the one before I did Jerk Chicken, Jerk pork on the BBQ in the garden, Goat curry and rice and peas and fried plantain. We also drink cocktails all night!

Ok everyone, we’re all going to herts’ house for NYE 😉

Do you manage to see much of Christmas Day?
Of course!! Up when ready and get lunch on the go, brekkie and then a Rules Cocktail or 3!! That is a sugar cube in a glass with Angostura bitters dripped onto it, 2 parts Dubonnet, 1 part Tanqueray number 10 gin shaken in a ice filled cocktail shaker, poured over the sugar cube and topped up with ice cold champers!! It is a corker of a Christmas late morning cocktail!!

I bet you have a Christmas Day "Schedule of events" don't you complete with specific timings? 😄

My mate takes his extended family to the local Indian every Christmas Day for the all you can eat buffet.

Bring your own booze. Few quid for corkage.

Michaels on whitegate drive or the one at Thornton do a great Christmas dinner, Indian food with a bit of the traditional Xmas dinner as well, probably booked up now though, always found it strange that an English owner runs a Indian restaurant but it certainly works well

Michael’s isn’t there anymore…..that’s how good that was

We have this same thread every year lads…. It’s a yawnathon

no offence but it’s a bit “I‘m a cool Daddio and Hip to the groove so unlike you Turkey compliance Nazis I’m having a Ruby on Xmas Day, aren’t I the ** Nuts”

If you want a Curry have one, if you want two have two if you want beans on toast have that…..and please tell us all about it 😏

I’m in the ’do what makes you happy ‘ camp.
I‘ve had every level of Christmas over the past 20 years. From the sublime to the ridiculous.
One thing I’ve learnt is, it’s just a day , and how you choose to do it is totally up to you 👍
