Yes there is, and the game should be better for it.Is there some new ruling as many games have had 6/7 minutes added
It’s not injury time any longer, it’s added time for goal celebrations, time wasted at throw ins, corners etc. If the players don’t like it they shouldn’t waste bloody time. I pay for a 90 minute game and thats what I want to see.I think it needs tweaking as there's a risk that some games will get silly amounts of injury time added.
20 minutes anyone?
I could get a second Bovril drunk in that time.
Maybe they'll give them a couple of games grace to get used to it. Blimey, we got four yellows as it is!!It’s not been injury time for years, it’s “Added time” and as said is all time the ball is out of play added together. I thought the kicking the ball away etc was also a card now? Hubby did it and. Lavery headed the ball into the stand when it went out, thought he was certain to get a yellow
Three of the four for clipping the heels of the opposition. They got no yellows for completely wiping out our player on two occasions and nothing for wrestling our players either! Funny old game, eh?Maybe they'll give them a couple of games grace to get used to it. Blimey, we got four yellows as it is!!
Kevin Gallagher said on Lancs that some Rovers fans were going after 80 mins, they had 9 mins of added time which means they missed a fifth of the game!! Am hoping it will settle as the season goes on as those additional minutes can't be good for the players and I wonder a bit like extra time in a cup game if you'll ever see a decent period of play in those added on minutes.Still doesn't stop poeple leaving in the 85th minute....they'll be losing about 288 minutes of football over the course of the season!
I did laugh when the usual suspects around us got up exactly on 85 minutes.Still doesn't stop poeple leaving in the 85th minute....they'll be losing about 288 minutes of football over the course of the season!
There were spares with the ball boys all round the pitch. Very little time wasted to restart once the ball had gone out. I noticed hubby helped a ball into the crowd but he already had a spare from the ball boy.Quite near the end of the game one of our players helped the ball into the crowd And the ball boys weren't so quick to get the ball back in play either. They need to recalibrate themselves if they don't want all that added time.
I obviously saw it differently to youThere were spares with the ball boys all round the pitch. Very little time wasted to restart once the ball had gone out. I noticed hubby helped a ball into the crowd but he already had a spare from the ball boy.
A bit annoying really as recently I've parked on the carpark and had 3 hours, however got there a bit early and it was cutting it fine getting back. Teams play differently at times in added time too, maybe that will change as they adjust.Games now won’t be done until 1705/1710
Yea same happened in front of me….85mins all of a sudden 3 stood up in unison and marched off in perfect step… we all just looked at them.I did laugh when the usual suspects around us got up exactly on 85 minutes.

The time added is a minimum. Imagine a 9 min added on and going 30s over. There will be bedlem from every quarter, players, managers, fans. It's a good thing, now everyone knows when the game will end (subject to additional additional time after 45 & 90mins).
It should eliminate the pantomime haranguing of the 4th official by gobshite managers & coaches before the final whistle is due.

Fair enough. Apols......which I acknowledged when I said...
Give it a few games, and everyone with any sense will accept that there'll usually be another 30 - 60secs added for time added between minutes 90 - 99.
In the Charity Shield match it was obvious after that clash of heads in additional time that there'd be a hefty amount of additional additional time.
Probably because they don't like the idea that they would be seen to be following Rugby's lead.Fair enough. Apols.
However I do think that an independent timekeeper is the way in the future. I just can't understand why they want to go from A ...B...C when they know E is the answer, just go there from the off.
Don't think taking the ball to the corner flag results in added time.Kevin de Bruyne has said he’s not happy about it, especially if they’re playing in Europe mid week and premier league at the weekend, it could ad half an hour or more to their playing time. I can see his point, but maybe he should have a word with Erling Haaland to stop taking the ball to the corner flag ten minutes from time.
It doesn’t, which makes the efforts to add time for time wasting difficult to justify. Players will find ways to waste time legally if they need to.Don't think taking the ball to the corner flag results in added time.
Plus, more playing time, more chance of injuriesMy worry is that it might slow the game down when the ball is in play, if games are regularly going to be extended by 10 - 15 minutes each half, then players are going to have to pace themselves much more, so there'll be lots more passing the ball around aimlessly at the back, and a lot less attacking action, which doesn't sound like a good thing to me.
Thinking of getting a stall under the stands selling piss pots. It’s potentially going to be a pain in the bladder . Imagine needing a slash on 35 minutes and then having ten minutes added time . Hanging on for ten minutes is bad enough , but 20

Schoolmaster at Harrow.Yes time wasting should be dealt with, but this is going too far. Games at Northampton and Doncaster had 15 minutes of additional time, which is ridiculous. No doubt it will be sorted out when the Prem boys begin to moan about it.
The other change this season has been a tightening up of bookings for kicking the ball away and dissent. Even questioning why a decision went the wrong way is likely to result in a yellow. There will be loads more bookings and suspensions this season, disrupting the game.
These rules have been introduced by IFAB whose Technical Director is David Elleray - he who was one of the strictest, jobsworth referees in the game. The job of a referee is to help the game flow, not to be in control of it - control is what the teams compete for. I don't think Elleray ever understood the role of the ref.
The moral this season is that fans shouldn't buy timed / advance rail tickets for their journey home - they may not make the train.
Even Chizzy and Gary Bowyer were surprised it was that lowWasn't at the game but 5 mins and 6 mins didn't seem overly unreasonable last night?
