Injury time

I do think the rules in recent years are continually sliding to favor bigger clubs with deeper pockets and stronger all round squads.

I enjoyed the way the World Cup was played with extra time, but over a season that's going to take a big toll on the players. We're a club that have struggled with injuries for the past few seasons already. This, alongside the larger substitution numbers means that clubs who can afford to have more top team players beyond the starting 11 are going to have the advantage, and they have enough of an advantage as it is.

It’s not been injury time for years, it’s “Added time” and as said is all time the ball is out of play added together. I thought the kicking the ball away etc was also a card now? Hubby did it and. Lavery headed the ball into the stand when it went out, thought he was certain to get a yellow
think most refs will be giving a couple of games to get used to the new rules of standing in front of the ball at free kicks etc before dishing out the yellows. also having numerous balls around the pitch to try to keep the game flowing will help

I don’t know where they got 7 minutes from at the end of the first half on Saturday. Hardly any stoppages at all ??

Good. It may stop teams like Gillingham a few seasons ago feigning injury to slow a game down. It was so obviously a practiced ploy - think about 4 players took turns.

thats exactly why it was brought in to stop teams doing this in the last 15 minutes of a game. also keepers taking 2 minutes to get up after collecting a cross and dropping to the floor like theyve been shot
