Take him for what he is. He was a joy to listen to. Somethings we don't agree on but to even have the chance to speak to him was great.
It's a long podcast but I hope you enjoy.
As I've said I don't always agree and nor consider KO anywhere near a human.. but the interview itself I enjoyed thoroughly.I can't listen to him. His love for Karl just grates on me
I'll always be thankful for what he did here but I've no interest in him now
Your lossI can't listen to him. His love for Karl just grates on me

Not really. If you fancy listening to him blow smoke up Karlys arse then knock yourself out.Your loss
I think he gives a lot away about what Karl did wrong too. However he does compliment Karl etc.Good listen but usual Karl love in does him no favours!
Thommo & Matt Williams got lots of credit.
Plenty on here blew smoke up it as well, people have short memories. Not really. If you fancy listening to him blow smoke up Karlys arse then knock yourself out.
Guy was brilliant for us but I can't stand him
Each to their own
Who?Plenty on here blew smoke up it as well, people have short memories.
The majority thought they were doing a good job, some respected Joffrey's stance on agents on these very pages.Who?
People protested against them in the 90's. Most have never liked them. Mushrooms have!
Maybe you're right. Some probably did for some reasonThe majority thought they were doing a good job, some respected Joffrey's stance on agents on these very pages.
Yep and I don't think Karl was far wrong about greedy agents? I don't think anyone here would disagree with the greed in football. The majority thought they were doing a good job, some respected Joffrey's stance on agents on these very pages.
But it was just an extension of them not paying the bills really, the place was so run down because no trades would touch them.Yep and I don't think Karl was far wrong about greedy agents? I don't think anyone here would disagree with the greed in football.
The extremities he went elsewhere and his obsession with Slazenger clothing was probably my issue with him.
I hated the Stains with an absolute passion, but my god they were fun times. Even having a go at Karl was fun.The majority thought they were doing a good job, some respected Joffrey's stance on agents on these very pages.
What do you want him to say? Bristol Rovers would be a 'we', Blackpool will always be a 'you'.I was enjoying it until he said "I know you lot fell out with him in the end, but you know what, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be my fricking chairman."
'You lot'? Had to turn it off.
I would have liked the fans position to have been put to him properly.I was enjoying it until he said "I know you lot fell out with him in the end, but you know what, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be my fricking chairman."

People forget that KO was his boss and paid his wages indirectly and tbh being left alone to get on with it is every managers dream.I just had time to listen to it in full and he loves to talk!!
I thought it was very interesting and he clearly loved his time here. Would I want him back as manager now? No, I wouldn't. Would I want him as Director of Football> Yes I would, he would be a great face of the club and would be positive about everything, he would also be invaluable as an ear for Critchley. It was interesting to hear how much Sir Jimmy was an influence to him during his time here, Critchley would benefit massively from someone like Holloway as a sounding board.
As for the Karl stuff, he knew what he was like but he says it as he found him and overall he got on okay with him and was left to his own devices. It doesn't matter that some of you think he is a snake for praising Karl, but why should he lie about his experience just to appease some supporters who can't actually listen to what he says. He still says his legacy was a few sprinklers in the pitch and that was it.
Agree with all that except I wouldn't bring him back as director of football, he's the biggest personality we've had here in a generation and certainly the most successful, he'd overshadow everything else and he used to be in control of everything.I just had time to listen to it in full and he loves to talk!!

Yeah possibly, it is a shame we haven't got a Jimmy Armfield type figurehead at the club, I can't think of anyone other than Ollie that could do it though, but he would overshadow everything else, but of course that could take the pressure of the manager and owner, I don't know.Agree with all that except I wouldn't bring him back as director of football, he's the biggest personality we've had here in a generation and certainly the most successful, he'd overshadow everything else and he used to be in control of everything.
Can't be IH herts. He'd want to run the show.Yeah possibly, it is a shame we haven't got a Jimmy Armfield type figurehead at the club, I can't think of anyone other than Ollie that could do it though, but he would overshadow everything else, but of course that could take the pressure of the manager and owner, I don't know.
Yeah I get that, but an experienced football manager in there would be a good thing I think. I just love Ollie, he was great. Can't be IH herts. He'd want to run the show.
You need to be the voice of reason when things are going awry. IH isnt that sort.
Ollie's strength is motivating players, I don't see him as a director of football type. And I just don't see him ever being back at the club tbh. Enjoy the memories and move on. There's plenty of options for director of football if we wanted one. Does Colin Hendry still live locally?Yeah possibly, it is a shame we haven't got a Jimmy Armfield type figurehead at the club, I can't think of anyone other than Ollie that could do it though, but he would overshadow everything else, but of course that could take the pressure of the manager and owner, I don't know.
I think you've nailed it.Maybe - ‘Ridiculous’ is ‘The Blackpool Way’
..and Simon too...if he got a word in edge ways HertsCritchley would benefit massively from someone like Holloway as a sounding board.
As a fan of him there's just too much baggage I think for many.Great listen that
I said I’d never want to go back, but after listening to that…. You just would, wouldn’t you!!! @TwelveAngryMen is right, it would be ridiculous.
Maybe - ‘Ridiculous’ is ‘The Blackpool Way’
I actually thought different, have always been a huge fan of Ollie for his remarkable work for us, but god he didn't half waffle some shite on that pod! A million words when five will do. No offence intended to the pod people. He's like an uncaged animal on the loose and in the early stages of dementia. If he was director of football we'd need a Director of the Director of Football.Great listen that

He’s always been the same… Completely random and Mad Cap and you can’t shut him up. Like him or loathe him, he’s a unique character and it’s not difficult to see why his players were prepared to run through brick walls for him.I actually thought different, have always been a huge fan of Ollie for his remarkable work for us, but god he didn't half waffle some shite on that pod! In regards to the last part though, with some critical thinking on Holloway's part you should weigh it up like:I just had time to listen to it in full and he loves to talk!!

And rightly so it's just another job for some bloke who done good. The reality is he doesn't give a toss about what people lost, fans being sued etc. He lives in his own bipolar bubble and says things to get a reaction. And of course any time we get a bit of profile, a cup tie for instance, some producer thinks it's a great idea to bring him out of mothballs for another incoherent ramble. Not for me.
The fact he doesn't seem to have the ability or judgement to say that os very disappointing and maybe telling. In regards to the last part though, with some critical thinking on Holloway's part you should weigh it up like:
Pros:
- he was an owner who let me do what I want, and I had great success because of that.
Cons:
- fucked over all my employees who helped me achieve that success the second the success was over by cutting their wages significantly.
- intentionally ran the business into the ground after I left, destroying all of my legacy and the l
club for the local community.
- attempted to ruin regular people's lives who dared criticise him, as a millionaire suing them when it was later proven that he was stealing millions from the club.
It'd be like if your boss years done the line got done for sexual harassment and you were like "well I don't know about all that, what can I say - never did owt to me, he gave me that promotion and pay rise that time!". If you had any objectivity you could recognise the guy was a ** regardless of what personal achievements he helped you reach.
It's really strange at times, as if he's trying to convince you Karl is alright. The fact he doesn't seem to have the ability or judgement to say that os very disappointing and maybe telling.
It's kind of what I said earlier in the thread, reading the room, admitting there were some things that led to our success, some good aspects to the relationship at the time - fine, but also bad things and that's why he left, what happened after he won the club mega money and after he left was clearly wrong, no legacy, suing fans etc.
Had he said that far more would have respect and understanding with him.
I'm not one of his haters, loved the guy, but that interview was disappointing from that pov, as a simple addressing of what happened to the club and addressing the facts would have gone a long way.
Disappointing he either doesn't want to touch on it or just doesn't get it.
