Interesting appointment at Notts County

County have just sacked Neil Ardley even though they still occupy 6th place in the national league and replaced him within 24 hours which is super rapid.
Their appointment is 38 year old Ian Burchnall whose background started in youth team management before moving into senior management eventually taking over from Graham Potter at Ostersund.
Has built a reputation for being an innovative coach espec. With the development of youth. Has been dismissed from a couple of positions for, ' off the field activities'
Nice for Blackpool to be ahead of the curve. Looking forward to see where Critch takes us over the next few years.

There's a few doing similar. Stockport replaced Jim Gannon with the Brighton U23 manager Simon Rusk a month or so ago (and Mark McGhee as his experienced assistant). We were linked with Rusk on a Pete O'Rourke article the week before NC's name first came up.

I m quite enjoying the, 'rookie' manager experience. Few ups n downs, learning curves etc. But ultimately it will be a modern approach with a thorough use of technology, psychology, and good old fashioned knowhow.
Much better than getting in a Pulis or a Warnock.
Under Critch/ Calderwood I like to be a bit surprised with team selection, tactics, etc. I think we will be seeing our homegrown lads getting their chance.
All in all, exciting time s

Probably a healthier trend than the appointment of ‘name’ players on big salaries who haven’t done their apprenticeship working with youth players or as assistant managers. Look at Germany ...

Just looked at the National league table and any team from bottom 6 can still make Play Offs with a good run!
Barnet are doomed and puzzled by situation at Dover. Surely they will just relegate them and take all points off the teams involved.
