Blackpool airport enterprise zone.... set to become one and also Blackpool town centre.

I presume the investment zone offers even more then the enterprise zone?

Should encourage growth in th Town centre though.

2 for Blackpool would be very good no?

Attract foreign investment to create a few low paid and probably insecure jobs. The likes of kami kwarzi and his cohorts are already investing in the the foreign entities probably in US dollars so the pound's weakness is yet another benefit.
Turn the UK into an ultra low cost worker economy for the majority with the city providing all the benefits to the top tier.

Enterprise zones are a complete and utter waste of time and money. Long term investment should be going into education, training and developing skilled and long term employment, not offering foreign investors a place to compete with 2nd and third world economies for low level investment

Northern Powerhouse

Levelling Up

Build Back Better

Covid Recovery Fund

etc

They are sites to be considered with others so it’s not final as yet but would be massively disappointing if we didn’t get at least one zone.

Given Blackpool has been massively neglected and used as a dumping ground for some UK dossers, it absolutely should get 2.

Add in all the other things happening and apparently due..... like the kings cross style regeneration comes in as well.

The investment zones seem to offer real benefits for companies so should create jobs.

Am not really interested in which political party has done what here, this is about Blackpool benefiting.

There's all types of other schemes and investment into Blackpool.

These sound good in theory but will it be new investment or just moving investment earmarked for other parts of the country. Add in the deregulation factor which usually means removing protections for communities, indivudals and workers in favour of big business and are the big selling point to private sector means on balance a few will prosper and the majority will suffer. A bit like Fridays fiscal event.

So planning rules get binned, companies pay even lower contributions to the economy, potential for lower tax rates for employees, privatised police and council. GTF
