I’m not sure if this complete radio silence from the club is concerning or not. We’re not even being linked with any players in the media which can mean one of two things;

Either there’s absolutely nothing to report on, which is a bit of a worry to me. Or Sadler has tightened the ship right up and no information gets out without his say so? I seem to remember it being that way at the beginning of his reign.

Either way though, seeing those fixtures yesterday reminds me what a truly awful division this is. League one has never been so weak, there is no excuses for Sadler, critchley or the players this season. Nothing but promotion should be considered a good season but I doubt the quality of our squad as it currently stands. Hope we see some signs of life in the next couple of weeks.

There isn't radio silence, they've been putting out a decent amount over the last day or so.

Transfers is different, you dont usually hear from the club until something is done.

As for rumours not sure it's always good to hear, as often our potential deals have seemingly fallen through.

I would like a signing today though, as it would be a good way to go into the weekend on a high.

"Pre-season training gets underway on Monday, as the First-Team and Development Squad players begin their preparations for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.

With the fixture schedule for the new season confirmed on Thursday, it's full-steam ahead for Neil Critchley's squad with the opening day fixture against Burton Albion now just 43 days away.

A full day of testing in the gym will kick things off for the lads on Monday, before they take to the grass at the training ground later in the week. The first pre-season fixture follows on Friday 7 July at Southport, kick-off 7:30pm, with tickets for this already on sale.

The squad will then fly out to Ireland week commencing Monday 10 July for a pre-season training camp, designed to get the lads up to speed ahead of the fixtures at Barrow on Saturday 22 July and Morecambe on Tuesday 25 July.

I don't do Twitface or any other social media but AVFTT. I've also heard from others that they can be pretty nasty and negative. It's not for me. Most on here are fine and nearly all have a light side about them.

So we know exactly when players need to be in by. July 23 seems reasonable. If you can’t have the bulk of your team in place by then what’s the point of pre-season? Pre-season is about fitness, fostering understanding and knowing your role within the team.

Too many things add up for it not to be him, in my opinion.

He told BST to tell fans to “watch what they say about his ownership”

Nothing was leaked from the club regarding transfers yet ChrisP knows everything regarding the club.

No one has any idea of who he is, despite him being a “lifelong Blackpool fan”
 
Definitely tighter the club now when it comes to transfer rumours, don’t recall seeing Albie Morgan’s name linked for example.

Whilst we definitely need additions and sooner rather than later I’m not panicking yet as we have a squad which clearly needs work on but we’ve certainly been in worse situations pre season but I’m confident the club will get plenty of business done before first league game.

Quite a bit. Have a look at twitter, certainly not been radio silence in the last day or so. We've even had a compilation video encouraging ST sales. Pretty standard and expected stuff but certainly not radio silence.

As for transfers it makes no sense for the club to be discussing anything until it's are official.

I think we want to hear about signings. I don’t care that the limited squad is back for preseason, going to Ireland and an update of the TG.

Edit: or Critchley last time he was here, before he did a runner Ffs

You'll only hear about that when it's done. It's better to get the right ones in that rush and get anyone.

Clearly it would be nice to get one in today.

I’m not panicking but preseason starts next week and we don’t have enough players.

They are trying to get the right signings and not just any old joker.

I'd like someone in this weekend, we all would.

However I'd rather it be the right person, even if we had to play Southport with what we have, a plenty strong enough squad to do so.

The only concern is that some of the signings we "should" be making, e.g. Thorniley or Nelson, are starting to happen, and they aren't coming to us.

Hopefully there's one or two in the pipeline that'll come off soon, otherwise we might be in a spot of bother.

Depends if we wanted them.

I do think we still need to prove we can sign quality permanently, after last season where we obviously struggled.

Probably because agents used us to gain interest for their clients and then said I can get you double at another championship club.
 
I’m not concerned, well, I’m beginning to worry a bit, 6 weeks to go until the start of the season and we don’t know if Jerry is staying or going, probably going,which means we need a quality replacement, and that’s just for starters. I hope it’s all in hand, but the last two windows play heavily on my mind, let alone the Brannagan fiasco. I’ll try to remain calm and optimistic, but if there‘s no movement next week, we need to start being concerned.

There are certainly players we do want to sign, the fact that we haven't signed them yet suggests we might be struggling.

It's not panic time yet, but I'm starting to get concerned.

No. But if you are going to give information like that then at least make it at least complete ,like say the right country.

Like vague travel news on the radio....there's been an accident over that way and it might cause you delays if you're heading through there to somewhere else. Police are expecting the road to be clear when there are no cars on it.

I can't believe for one minute that the club would've put recruitment on hold while they were waiting for a SD to come in, if they did they'll be so far behind the curve it's not true.

The silence I was referring to from the club is no end of season/beginning of season statement, no real positivity and absolutely no incentive for those on the fence to renew their STs

It is quite telling that we’re not really getting many rumours, whether they’re based on utter bullshit or it’s a players agent winding people up there’s usually something going around at this time of year

I’d rather sign someone then announce it, not state we’re gonna sign brannagan 😄 for him to turn around and say no

In the gazette today it’s showing the full plans for the planning application for a new training ground that people have been moaning about for the last 20 years.
 
I just wonder if there’s a lot of absence, holidays etc behind the scenes and so we’ve not seen much action. At least Critch has had a month to assess what’s going on, will have been in contact with Downes and the Cov lad and maybe our targets are better than the free agents who have been available so far?

No like I said I obviously don’t expect the club to post about transfer rumours that’s ridiculous. I meant that it’s strange that we’re not even being linked with anyone.

The silence from the club has been deafening since we went down which is what I was referring to in my original post

Well whoever it is has decided to ignore my replies to his tweets ever since I called him out for being Sadler.

And who are you calling an idiot? Do you know FOR DEFINITE that it is Sadler? No. You don’t. So refrain from the name calling.
