Is Marv going to make bigger headlines

…than young Jake? Going to be awkward.
It’s fkn pathetic that someone would trawl through posts made by Marv (and I’m guessing all the other Blackpool players) to try and found something that would cast bad light on someone, who at the time was still a kid.
It’s bound to be someone who has beef with Marv over something that happened in the past, or it’s a fan of one of our rival clubs.
I know for a fact this happened with that Burnley player (I think when he scored v Liverpool) and a Lpool fan found a tweet from like 2014.
Somethings I’ve done and said in the past, disgust my current self. People grow, learn, move on.
I’m glad Marv has done this, but it just goes to show how social media is incredibly toxic. His comments were bad, but to find them from 10 years ago?
That takes some doing.
Pathetic

It's sad to think that someone's sat in their mother's darkened attic, trawling social media for hours / days / weeks, just to drag something up from way back in history, that causes a problem for the poster.
Social media can be toxic & before posting a poster should remember that it's like sending a postcard - everyone can read it!

No, he won't (and rightly shouldn't) be the bigger story. It's a column filler for today, possibly a bit tomorrow, then hopefully gone. Marv's statement is a good and honest one that hopefully stops it going further than it needs.

I agree. As teanagers we say lots of things that we now regret and our views change a lot. When I was in my teans I enjoyed watching 'Love Thy Neighbour' on TV and 'Alf Garnet' but times and views change. I don't see what Marvin posted as a 17 year old means he holds those same views, it would be a bit different if he had posted it this time last year.
You scouse git it's teenagers, teens, Alf Garnett. Strewth ! 😜

It’s more toxic than that. It was out there moments after Jake’s announcement. Someone was geared up in readiness for this and that is the alarming thing about all this. And the hypocrisy of the FA.

Convinced it was someone in the press. Didn't the Currant Bun put up a story about an anonymous footballer who was about to come out? This kind of shit would be right up their street.

The ITK AVFTT poster told us that someone was going to `come out' the next day.

And he was right again!
