Is this our season?

For a return for the premiership at first time of asking?
There’s a lot of teams where overspending has caught up with them over the years and it’s showing. I fancy us for a top 6 finish and you know how that ends 😄

Personally I think derby are down, looks like blackpool of old the way it’s run, no players / squad.

Nob end, this is their season to be struggling around relegation all season, signing an ageing striker up front in evans and a manager who won a couple of meaningless games at the end of last season, shows lack of money and intent.

And I’ll go for Peterborough, always score a lot but concede far too many and in the championship where the finishing is better they will struggle.

Where do you think we will finish and who do you think will go down?

Utp!!!!!

Peterborough looked poor but have signed some decent players in Marriott, Grant and Randall, I personally don't see them going down.

As for ourselves, I don't think we'll be anywhere near the play offs with the current squad. I do think we will hold our own in most games and think anywhere between 12th and 16th would be a great season.

I reckon it will be a LWDLWD…type of season with a comfortable mid table finish e.g.
Pld 46
W 16
D 14
L 16
GD 0
Pts 62
Finishing 12th or 13th with about 10 or 11 home wins in that lot.

Peterborough will finish below us I reckon, we are much better managed and coached.

Until the window closes and players like John-Jules settle in it's difficult to know how we will do this season, but I think we will be middle table as things stand and if we add a bit of loan quality, of the Ellis Simms/KDH standard, we could go higher. We will gradually establish ourselves and improve as we find our feet and work out who fits where. Let's not panic. Some seem a bit panicky already?

Absolutely no idea how we will do…..different league…..new players with more to come at some stage….unsure of standard of league…
It’s all total guess work at the moment.

Yeah it is guess work. The 3 teams that came down from the Prem are well ahead of us though. Difficult to compete with those, and Bournemouth, QPR and maybe Millwall. Not convinced there's much else that is distinctly superior. And I think we will finish above Derby and Peterborough. So only need one more below us to stay up.

We will be higher than the other promoted teams. Higher than Nobbers. Win at some big away grounds. No chance of going up, No where near going down. Around 14th.

Watching us last season, I didn't feel we were really anything special. We didn't really rip anyone apart, we often looked toothless. Yet we were comfortably the best performing team in the division for the last two-thirds of the season. It's a huge unknown. We don't know how good our squad is, we don't know how good other teams are really. But I really don't understand why some people are so negative and pessimistic. Go with the flow. Enjoy the highs, don't get hung up on the lows. Enjoy the journey. Que sera.

We were better against the footballing sides & crap against the bus parkers. On that basis we should do reasonably well, as there’s more of the footballing sides in the Championship. That’s about all I can say ATM. We’ll just have to wait & see, or hear in the case of Saturdays game, I rarely do away. UTP.

I think we are short of a creative midfielder. That one bit of magic. If we can get them in on a loan then I fancy a decent season and hopefully still be in with a shout for play off positions last 5 to 10 games. I don't think we will ultimately get top 6 but there or thereabouts come the end.

We should be setting our sights on winning the league. But if we are rooted to the bottom at Christmas, then survival would be a massive achievement.
Agreed, im hoping we apply ourselves and achieve much better, but I would settle for not getting relegated and having a right good go next season. But hey it’s Blackpool, we could end up winning the league 😄

No I reckon just above relegation this season

Looking at the league teams this year there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. I think we’ll hover between 11th and 8th post Christmas and be in with a shot of a play off spot with 4 games to go. My optimistic vision can’t or won’t see past that point other than it will be exciting towards the back end of the season.
Derby, Huddersfield and Blackburn to go down.

I'll be happy with a mid table finish.
Some of our younger good players, might not be ready for the Prem for a year or two.
Let's get them acclimatized to a higher league first.

You read Phills thread and it’s all doom and gloom with inadequate replacements.

Then you read the positives on promotion push.

I will take 20th right now.

I'm finding it hard to predict just where we'll finish. There are undoubtedly some good teams in The Championship but there are quite a few ordinary ones as well.
I do feel we need a decent start and I'd quite happily take a point at Bristol now.
We could be without Mitchell, Stewart and Dougall plus the long time absentees Gretarsson and Madine, far from ideal, it will be very interesting to see who starts and where on Saturday, strap yourselves in, it could be a bumpy ride 😬
