Nope and the golf club I use is one mile inside the expanded zone down in That There.
Now where are my wire cutters ?

How can a 12.50 charge possibly be sold as being "green"? Just another tax on the less wealthy who cannot afford new vehicles.

Khan should take a leaf out of Dick Turpin's book and at least have the decency to wear a mask whilst robbing people.

It amazes me how people who live 250 miles away from London are up in arms about this.

I live 50 miles away and I go into London quite often and I never drive there.

Do you think Londoners would give a fuck about it being introduced elsewhere?
Maybe because it's the headline news story on every News channel.

Or is it only the North West we're only allowed to discuss?

It is green because it's aimed at discouraging the most polluting vehicles from being driven in and into London. Given that London has an excellent public transport infrastructure I do not see this as a bad thing.

As much business as you have discussing Blackpool FC.

And many of us have a) family and friends in London that we visit, b) a general interest in our capital, c) a general interest in UK politics.

What an utterly patronising and condescending post.

Londoners wouldn't give a fuck because 99% of em don't even know anything else exists outside of that city.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this ? People with older cars getting stung for more money - generally perhaps people that can’t afford newer cars ? Just another way to make more money ?where does the money go ?

With a fleet of vans comes a host of drivers, all of which he has to pay.
Does he get rid of his fleet along with the drivers or does he pay the charge and put that onto the cost of the carpets?
More Vans = More Drivers = More Carpets Sold & Fitted = More Profit

I’d say Vans are an integral part of any Carpet Business… So other businesses will face the same issues.

So yep… you’d need to increase your margins to reflect additional cost of either paying the charge, upgrading or retrofitting the fleet to meet the standard.

A money racket plain and simple. With a bonus of bullying people to get out of their present cars and into those electric cars.

The EV of course yes. Strangely the V8 petrol is yes too?

So I guess it only applies to older diesel engines?

Checked my reg on the link in the op and it says my vehicle is non compliant, whereas on the TfL website it is. Be careful of sources.

It’s not just London, though. It’s planned for cities all over the UK.

Mine is a 2014 diesel & chargeable apparently 2015 diesel’s are likely to be compliant. I’ll look up the stat’s for mine & a year later to see what the difference is (when I can be bothered) don’t suppose it’ll effect the outcome though. I don’t generally drive to the big cities nor intend to start doing, but I fear it will be extended across the country in the next few years. Only positive I can see is it could stop me going to Preston. Or if necessary use the wife’s car.

I used to work with a guy who had to change his car when ULEZ was extended to the North Circular as he lived half a mile inside it. I remarked that he must be pissed off but he was sanguine about it and said it was for the right reasons, especially as he had a young son, so was happy to comply.

2015 Vauxhall Mokka 1.6 diesel. Yes, but I have no intention of driving to London.

Breathing clean air overrated according to the Tories, so they'll pollute the waterways as well just to really fuck up everything.

My 2014 diesel is non compliant ,I occasionally drive to London and have left the car on the outskirts but now that will be inside the zone so I’d have to find somewhere a bit further out to leave it now .

I read a story over the weekend, apparently a lot of drivers who are ULEZ compliant are still getting charged and fined, because apparently a lot of cars are compliant even though they were made before the Euro4/6 rules came into force, but TfL doesn't really know which ones are and which aren't, so they assume they are non-compliant until proven otherwise.

I find that highly unlikely given there is a TFL website that identifies every car on the road and can tell you whether it is or not. Source?

I put both our cars into the checker and both passed. I was a little surprised that my car passed. It is a 2018 VW Tiguan SUV with a 2 ltre diesel engine. It is, however, a 'Blue Motion' model with lower emissions because I have an additional tank for Ad Blue (to meet European emissions standards), and it is very efficient in terms of the miles per gallon. Apart from using the M25, I think I have only driven through the London area about 6 times anyway
