I think Morgan has been unfairly judged by some too. He had a good game, didnt hide at all, looked for positions and made runs and tried things. Maybe people see the moment he doesnt pass square and judge his performance on that. If he'd passed square and Lav had missed people would say he should have shot i reckon! Dont criticise players who look for the ball and try things IMO. Promising start from him.

After reading Charlton fans views on him i didnt expect too much but he looks pretty good and that was despite several players around him not linking up well. Like the effing wing backs. And Carey, who was ok but didnt make the supporting runs like he should. Too deep too often. It felt like Norburn and Morgan worked as a pair to set up Lavery, and got frustrated with the rest. And Burton identified that second half I guess. Need an actual threat from out wide and from Carey and Beesley. Mixed performance. Some good things but several areas of weakness.
 
Thought both Morgan & Norburn were excellent, their displays filled me with optimism for this season! Think we are one or two key players away from really taking this league by the scruff of the neck and giving it a wedgie!

That was the one baffling thing for me from that pod, unless I’ve been living under a rock, I hadn’t seen any of this negativity towards Morgan and thought he had a great game.
 
Liking what I have seen of him so far.

Hopefully under Critch he can find that consistency which it appears he never really found at Charlton.

Different club, different settings under a different coach can work wonders.

He’s clearly a good footballer.

Not sure how that Brummie lad has developed such strong negative opinions on Casey and Beesley when they've hardly kicked a ball for us, but there you go!

Between friendlies and a few passing comments I wanted to ensure he got the credit he deserves. Think he’ll be an asset this season.
