Euphoria after an away win at night. I think Pool were solid enough, but their final pass is nearly always the let-down. With Beesley and Rhodes up top, why do Pool so rarely try to get to the bye-line and cross to the far post. Instead they try to play it through on the deck, and usually fail. What last night showed however,, is that with Dembele in midfield, there can be no room for Carey, Morgan or CJ as starters. Pool are a functional unit, and are latterly showing resilience when out of possession. Jim Armfield said that the key to success is a solid defence, and he should know. The goal, when it came resembled a scrum on the goal line, more suited to Twickenham than Sixfields, although the initial header should have been buried. Lincoln are scoring for fun, but I doubt if they can keep that up for long. Pool just have to take care of their own business, however functional it seems.

The traditional getting to the bye-line and crossing it in ala Steve Coppell is frowned upon in modern football because more times than not you are going to lose the all important possession.
We did a job last night,no more,no less.

Am glad you made these points @Middxile because amongst all the joy and euphoria, we will have to play a bloody damn sight better than we did on Tuesday with those passes, crosses and final balls if we're to get to the Play offs.

They are the games we’ve been losing one nil in similar fashion. A wins a win and coach Critchley must be happy
