Lose the 1st couple of games and it'll be carnage!
He replied to someone with a story he posted on June 9th saying Appleton was in the frame. Seems to me he was right on things, and we've failed terms with Rosenoir and ended up with Appleton as a result.
No thanks - not interested in what he has to say.Video interview now up on tangerine tv...
Does he really have a PNE tattoo?I'll give him every chance.
As long as he has that PNE tattoo removed by laser, live on Tangerine TV.
Indeed. Anyone want mine?I’m sure Appletons appointment will see a surge in ticket sales……
So will I, but it's a deflating appointmentAs underwhelmed as I am , the people running this club see him as the right person for the job . Saddler has taken this club and moved it massively forward since the Oystons- I will at least give Sadler and Appleton a chance .
I agree -So will I, but it's a deflating appointment
Yeah, but we can have a whip round for an angle grinder and a sanding diskDoes he really have a PNE tattoo?
Will cost the club 3 years or more in wages thoughGive the guy a fair chance - if he doesn't succeed he'll be potted.
I'd guess by the reaction on here that he is bound to exceed expectations.
Appleton's Tangerine Army!
Nailed on relegation. Worse appointment possible.
Totally underwhelmed, but hope to be proved wrong!
Whilst I agree with your point to a degree, if the same were to be applied throughout football, very few clubs would ever make a bad appointment. You can't argue with the quote from SS who is much better placed, with his entire team of paid professionals, than any of us like-to-think-we-know-it-alls!
“I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Michael back to Blackpool. I am very much looking forward to seeing what he can achieve during his second stint with us. Whilst success cannot be guaranteed, Ben, Brett, John and I are convinced that, after a thorough recruitment process, he’s the right man for us at this point in our journey.
“All of the prospective head coaches were strong candidates and we spent several hours with each to get to know them better. After debating their individual pros and cons, we were unanimous in our decision to choose Michael Appleton.”
He needs to embrace the muppetry , I hope he scowls at us with contempt every time we win and then shouts 'are you not entertained'.He’s only 46, experienced, says he wants to play aggressive, exciting football. So what we want now Michael is for you to smile sometimes, clap the fans, wave to them, no shirt kissing, no fist pumping or kissing the badge, oh and get us off to a winning start with your exciting football, but I’m sure you know all that.
Like last time?At least he might want to be here.
Lincoln had a load of loan players when we played them in the final. They all left leaving his team far inferior for the season afterDidn’t set league 1 alight last year
2+2=-3000If you translate that into plain English it means he was out of work, so just needed a job and from the clubs point of view and most importantly, he was cheap.
If only people like yourself made up our board of directors, ey?Whilst I agree with your point to a degree, if the same were to be applied throughout football, very few clubs would ever make a bad appointment.
We've so far had Grayson, Critchley and now Appleton.
We could, potentially, be looking at a success rate of 33%.
What process are we actually trusting?
(I appreciate if it works out it'll be 66%, but I truly cannot see it happening).
Harsh when he was fighting cancer and missing half a seasonDidn’t set league 1 alight last year
That’s my biggest question mark over the appointment. He never seems to stay long anywhere. Why give him a 4 year dealOne saving grace he didn’t last long last time so let’s hope lightning strikes twice
Totally disagree, I’ve just listened to his interview, very honest and clear about last time and being here now. If he plays the type of football he said he will - remember his Lincoln team where really attacking and exciting to watch in the play off season - I think he could be a good appointment. The club clearly have faith with a 4 year deal. With the right recruitment which will start in earnest now you would expect and what we have already we could be in for a decent/good season. Like him or loathe him he is now what we have and like anyone in life he deserves a chance. I for one will get behind him and give him 100% of my support. I trust SS and the board to make the right call - if they are convinced then let’s go!On a 4 year deal. Dreadful. A backwards step.
