I think it’s going to hinge on the two Sunderland games which are as close to back to back as you’re very likely to get in a season.

A unique situation, which could either push us over the line or stop us dead.

To be fair I didn’t think we’d be in this position, so what ever happens after this point it’s going to be a positive end of the season.
When we were promoted via the playoffs in 2001 we got into the last play-off place courtesy of Rochdale not making it thanks to Plymouth.
Rochdale beat Plymouth 2-0 at home in their game in hand, played in the mid-week of the last game of the season. Their last game of the season was away at....Plymouth. It was 0-0 which allowed us into 7th place and, hence, the play-offs.

The sooner the better obviously, no League One team budgets or assembles a team for the Championship before they're in it, that way lies bankruptcy.

I think we're all confident that the owner would give the manager everything he needed if it happened.
