It's not (well it is) Cricket

Clearly the lack of Lancashire involvement has nulled interest in the final days of the CC Season.
5th place and a final match draw looks likely for Lancs as am sure Storm Agnes (not Agnew!) will have it's say.

Its been great cricket weather down here for the last couple of weeks, just got my last game of the season in.

Lancs have been in 'pre-season' mode all season. We have never really got going.
The injury to Jennings impacted on the squad as it lacked leadership, Vilas was always leaving, but was ex captain, a number of players were likely to (and have left) and it was a season too early for the exciting crop of youngsters coming through.

Next season we could come good with the likes of Bohannon, Hurst, Aspinwall, Balderston, Morley, Singh and a few others having some miles in their kit bags

I spoke too soon. Lancs have collapsed to 258/7, a lead of only 91. Could be a sad end on the last day of the season.

Chapple leaving is interesting. We have had three 2nd places in the CC and 3 finals days of the Blast in his 7 years. Is that good, bad or par for the course? What could we do better and who is likely to take his place?

Hard to tell.

One thing is we probably will have a half decent season next year before call ups on the youngsters happen.

It must be really hard to recruit in cricket because you can't look for the best players, like say City do, but players who aren't quite there because you know they'll actually play the season for you without other distractions.

What happened to the Lancashire League
, most teams had a test playing pro back in the day?

Young talent was nurtured though it and the northern league

We’ve done ok

The weather affected most of our draws and of those we’d have won many more games and challenged hard - we were never knowingly saved by the rain

Essex were the only team to beat us (a game we tried to win) and it was very close and like Hants they gambled on matches near the end of the season to stay in the chase

Compare time lost by Surrey due to weather and Lancs.

We’re likely to have a far more inexperienced but talented young team next season and I wish all the ne recruits well and thank the old guard for their service and pleasure

The team will be similar to what we've seen in September I think.

Wells Jennings Bohannon Bell Balderson Lavelle Hurst Hartley Bailey Blatherwick Morley Williams Wood Aspinwall

Mitchell Stanley has signed from Worc, 22 year old fast bowler.

Not sure if or how much we'll see Anderson, Gleeson, Mahmoud, Mitchell?

We'll have the Blast cameos from Buttler, Livingstone, Salt.
