Jake Beesley

I’ve been anticipating seeing him since he signed. Apart from a mini appearance he’s not even been figuring on the bench recently. I realise there’s a pecking order but it would be great if he could be given 2 or 3 starts to get his BFC career going. I‘ve got a feeling he’s going to be really good for us.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago but got shot down in flames by a certain poster saying he was Madine’s stand in.

Well If that the case we’ll never see him with Madine being the chosen starter week in week out.

I’am sure he didn’t sign knowing he would be bench warming week in week out.

Jake who?
At the moment it feels like a filler signing, given the failure to address the creative midfielder role(s).

Was thinking the same thing yesterday

I thought Madine was poor last night and its time Beesley was given a chance. He's done well in his two little cameos and must have come here with a bit of confidence that must be diminishing quickly. Maybe Critch sees something lacking in training that we are not privvy to

Whilst the remote chance of playoffs is there I think Critch still has to be picking established players where possible.

When/if we reach a point that realistically the season is done I am hoping new players like Beesley, Dale, Kirk and others on the fringe get a good run out. Maybe one or two youngsters. The club needs time to see their potential for next season.

Given how we are placed and the result last night I reckon with 4 or 5 games to go we will see more of the new/fringe players. I hope I'm wrong and we are knocking on the door but odds are against it.

It seems that Critch is happy to persevere with CJ. He’s fast, has improved since Hartlepool but remains easy to knock off the ball and his passing is not the best. An Aussie would say he lacks a bit of dog in him.
I’d like to see more of Kirk in CJ’s position. He won’t beat many fullbacks for speed but he plays ‘heads up’ and can put the ball in the danger area.
I doubt Critch will read this and maybe he’s considered it. Fingers crossed.

This is what happens when we sign bargain basement players from league 1 and 2. Kirk Dale Beesley all added nothing to the squad and are the types of signings we'd have made under Oyston. I thought the days of loaning players from teams in lower divisions were over...

Need to improve on the signings if we are to progress as a club in the next few years and if Critchley can't attract better players than that, then get rid and get someone else in.

Congratulations! You win the competition for worst post of the year so far.

Once Critch has worked his magic, I’m sure they’ll come good

Bit like Marv and Keshi then.

Your post from last month after the Bristol match

but you would have to leave jerry or shayne off the bench we had 1 keeper 2 strikers 2 wingers 1 midfield and 1 defender

I really hope he gets a chance, the fact is our defence has on the whole been great this season our problem has not been scoring enough goals, too often 1 goal a game is not enough. Whilst our strikers have all chipped in none of them has scored enough that they cannot be replaced to give someone else a chance.

But you constantly snipe at Critchley and have made it clear you don’t want him as coach. It’s the middle of March and we are secure in the Championship. He’s done that on probably the smallest budget in this league.

I’m not sure why you dislike Critchley so much and compare Simon Sadler to the Vermin. Unless of course your a mushy or an Oyston?

Marv and Keshi were standouts at their clubs and signed on the back of a couple of good seasons.

Kirk is a player we have loaned from a side in league one (which he couldn't get into)
Dale we also loaned from a side in league one, on the back of a good 2/3 month run of form for him. He didn't really do much for us barring reading away and nobody was bothered when it looked like we weren't going to sign him. But we ended up buying him permanently, which is obviously because we were desperate.
God only knows where we found Beesley, he will probably be out on loan next season as he seems to be 4/5th choice.

The fact is the January signings have been poor and underwhelming. It's just a scatter gun approach signing these players and hoping 1 of them works out. If Critchley is signing these players then questions need to be asked of him. We are in a unique position as a club where we have an owner willing to push the club onto the next level (even if he is taking his time about it) and we can't afford the manager to be pissing money up the wall.

Don't necessarily agree but you make some good points to think about.

Get him in. Work on anything that needs working on and getting him familiar with our tactics then play him in the dead rubber games see what he can do.

Isn't that what training is for and behind closed doors games like they had the other week?

I want the best 11 to take to the pitch and couldn't give a toss about giving players a run out unless the game is nearly over or one side is getting spanked.

The best 11 is taking the pitch that’s why’s Beesleys not on it yet. Not going to risk dropping him in when the playoffs are still in distance plus Madine is one of the first names on the team sheet. He quite simply has to play IMO.

Well if you can persuade a Newcastle Director, Man City benefactr or Roman Ambramovich to donate about £50M and join our board nothing is going to change soon

We’ve spent a lot of money 💰 at every level and from what I can see it’s worked very well - if you consider both last season and this we have had half a starting line up out permanently so these ‘poor & underwhelming signings’ have more than done well. They are solid pro’s, not MO Salah, De Bruner etc but have fought like Ukrainians for the Pool

What about Kevin Stewart?
See him more as a defensive midfielder. A blocker. A tackler.
Although I do wonder if NC has asked him to turn provider. Really pleased he seems to be trying to look for a positive, forward pass recently. He’s a class act, but we all know his injury record.

He's been brilliant since his return.
I don't go with this defensive or attacking midfielder labelling.
He's a central midfielder. Box to box.
The new modern labels are bollocks.

I think we're a team that are greater than the sum of our parts, so to integrate a new signing into the 'Blackpool way' is going to take a fair few training sessions.

We also don't know the conversations about departures in summer. It could well be the case that Madine or Yates move on and Beesley has been told to bed in for 6 months, get up to speed with how Critch wants to play and then challenge for a starting place in preseason.

Dale is the stranger signing for me. Kirk looks a better player, and with Bowler, Keshi, CJ..et al we're pretty well stocked.
Hope to be proved wrong but I can't see him contributing.

Think we’re past signing players without a plan and then rolling them up in a carpet, I’m sure the lad anticipated having to be patient for his chance when he signed

One for the future will get a run out once our fate is sealed.

As Tim from the office would often say to Gareth….

COCK

If you don't give Beesley the opportunity to come on for 20 minutes or so at the end of the game, how will we know what he can do. Madine has had injury problems in the past, this would be a way of managing that.

What a load of c***

Beesley, I'm sure, is being developed to strengthen our attack next season
They must have seen some potential in him and I hope he gets a try out before the end of this campaign
I wasn't too confident following January's business, but with injuries piling up and some acquisitions yet to feature regularly, isn't our performance since then a testament to our coaching staff?
I applaud the long-term strategy of the hierarchy at what is now a viable, well-structured and motivated organisation.
For the moment, the future does indeed look bright.
I only hope NC remains to oversee our PROGRESS

this!

if we dont get in contention for the play offs in the next 4/5 games, then i think (hope?) that we'll see more of Beasley, Kirk, Dale, Casey...Maybe some youngsters cameos like Mariette, Trusty and Apter

Hell, maybe we'll even see some from Grant and Virtue!

I miss Sonny tho 🥲

We'll learn nowhere enough about Beesley giving him 20 mins here and there. He needs to start 3-4 games and get a minimum of an hour in each before we can judge him at all. And yes of course, I hope we take the chance for it towards the end of this season, especially in the few home games we have left.

However, for what it's worth, taking into account Critch's obvious thorough preparation in virtually everything else he's involved in (I'm sure he plans breakfast a week in advance, in case the shop changes supplier), I can't believe he hasn't discussed this with each player when they signed. The current team are all at length to make it clear that he explains everything with them, so that even if they aren't playing they know why and they still feel valued and part of it.

So surely he isn't signing someone, then virtually not giving them a game for 2 months without explaining in detail what the long term plan for them is?

The ones on a shorter deal like Charlie Kirk - slightly different. We need to know about them now, and he's getting some decent game time.

Yep. He's good around the dressing room.

9+

What??? He won everything in the air and ran his socks off!
He doesn't when compared to Jerry or Lavs. It's alright getting your head on it but it's doing something constructive with it. My bros took his missus to her first game a few weeks ago. She works in the hotel and knows Madine. She's no football expert but commented to my brother, completely unsolicited

You’re a PNE season ticket holder surely?

Get past the PNE game and the rest of the season will be a dress rehearsal for next year and what we need and who we need.
