A true music lover, her shows were never about her, it was all about the music.

First person to showcase Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Amy Winehouse.

The one thing I do remember about her, is when she showed you how to put a condom on in the eighties in the HIV / AIDS tv programs.

Great role model for young women in her day working her way up in a male dominated world of radio music, always came up with something a bit different and, in her way, was the successor to fellow Scouser John Peel as a champion of the undiscovered band/artist. RIP Janice

PS as for Desmond Tutu - what are University Students going to do now, I got a “Desmond (Hons)” for my degree, guess they will all have to try a bit harder now!
