January improvements?

So where do we start ?
1) Tell Grimshaw he is no 1 keeper and reinstate him. He is young and will only get better.
2) In January offload by loan, transfer or termination of contract - Maxwell,Moore,Ward,Garbutt,Stewart,Bridcutt,CJ,
3) Send Williams and Poveda back to their parent clubs
4) Recall Virtue,Dale,Tharme and Apter (They are better than aforementioned players)
5) Tie Thornley to a contract
6) Sign a tall young keeper to be Grimshaws understudy, an experienced CH and a midfield leader.
7) Get Gabriel, Beesley Keshi fit to give us options.

1. Agree
2. Wouldn't mind those players going but no benefit if no players coming in. Bit harsh on CJ.
3. Only if replacements happen
4. All not good enough at this stage so keep them there.
5. Agree although lording Jordan Thorniley is another reflection of how poor we have become.
6. Waste of a head. Grimshaw and Maxwell fine. Definitely need a midfielder as per the start of the season. Need lots of other positions too which is why January will be a waste of time and the damage has already been done.
7. Gabriel isn't too much of a concern with Connolly and hopefully Lyons. Beesley was a pointless signing. Yes we need a fit Keshi.

A club like ours won't be able to do much in the January transfer window so our fans need to lower their expectations and accept it's going to be a long season with the players we have which aren't good enough.

You didn't watch any West Brom, Luton or Middlesborough games.

If anyone on this forum thinks that CJ Hamilton is good enough at this standard, then they clearly want a relegation battle and League One football.
Funnily enough I did! I also watched him against Preston and Coventry where he was arguably one of the best players on the pitch in both games 👍 No ones saying he's a world beater, but his pace and crossing ability make him a danger

I'd send Poveda, Corbeanu and Williams back to their clubs. We won't get rid of any of the contracted players apart from Ward. Bridcutt will be fit before then. I'd recall Thame and Apter but leave Virtue out on loan. They need to get Thorniley signed before January, the WC break is the perfect time. Beesley, Anderson and Gabriel should all be fit by then. As far as signing anyone we need a striker an experienced midfielder of real quality, an experienced centre half and 3 new loan players.

An experienced striker, an experienced midfielder, an experienced centre half.

Just what we needed before the season kicked off. 🙄

The CH is more critical than ever as has been proven since Keogh left. The defence particularly when Judd isn’t playing is as shaky as hell and that’s why Grimmy paid a price of being dropped!

Poveda maybe
Corbeanu has potential, remember the goals he has scored robbing defenders, and he worries defenders.
Williams would benefit from a strong vocal CB partner, which he has not got and again has potential. Maybe needs to replace Eki for a few matches.
I would be happy with both Corbs and Williams being Pool players.
Agree with experienced cb, and striker hopefully Bridcutt will be fit which would leave us Dougall, Connolly and Bridcutt as experienced cm

1. Not that much difference between Grimmy and Max although I prefer grimmy.
2. I doubt any of those will happen perhaps two at most.
3. Not going to happen.
4. Ditto not going to happen.
5. I'm sure we're already trying to tie Thornily (how the hell do you spell his name!!) to a contract.
6. Got one he's called Moore.
7. What do you think we do with unfit players, smash their kneecaps with a lump hammer?

8. A bonus from me. Wonder if Appleton will bugger off to Wigan?
