Joe Nuttall

Sincerely hope the lad can get his career back on track. He’s got all the physical attributes needed to be a professional footballer and would offer power and pace to our forward line. He’s had a couple of years working with a top coach and should know the system we play inside out. The only thing holding him back has to be the mental side of the game and at just 24 there’s time for him to sort it out and kick on. No idea where the OP got this information from but if he’s got any chance of forcing his way back into contention at Bloomfield Road it’s between now and the transfer window opening.

You can be sure he will go out on loan to Mansfield or similar, score a few but never get a chance again here

Just watched the Jerry Yates video training at Squires Gate.
Joe Nuttall did indeed feature but so did Teddy Howe. Didn't spot Bez Lubala though.

The chances of Nuttall playing another game for us seems slim, he struggled at L1 level, so unsure why some would think he can cut it in the Championship seems a little fanciful. The bigger picture is getting the lad in the right mental and physical place, if he can get a successful loan under his belt, hopefully he can forge a career in the game.

He did play a few games for Rivers in the Championship mainly off the bench and notched a couple of goals. If his heads right he may be more suited to the higher level.

He was 22, he’s now 24 and has spent 2 years working under Critch. There’s enough in that alone to suggest it’s not time to write the lad off just yet ! Marv was playing non league football at 24.

I'm not writing the lad off but he would certainly need to prove himself before we can seriously consider him for our first team. If he were to go to a club like Crewe, Morecambe or Fleetwood and show his ability, then I'd have no issues welcoming him back to our 1st team squad. I guess there will be a bit of movement in January, I wish the lad well.

I still don't get the clamour for a player who was always below bang average, didn't ever commit to winning the ball and to me looked lazy and a passenger in games he played. He also missed some absolute sitters! Let him go somewhere and make his name.

Hear Hear ...we should wish him well !

Blimmin eck Marvs full name is a cracking scrabble score

I'd love to see super Joe come good. I actually think he's got skills. I just think he's not a striker. He always looked better in build up than in front of goal to me. To me, he actually did that weird Heskey role of being a big lad who could play but doing it wide quite well.

Up front, I just didn't see it. He could be useful as at times, we look like any kind of presence at all would be useful and to be fair to Nuttall, he did seem to have awareness of others and some technique. He just seemed to totally fall to bits when expected to get on the end of things. His link play was often quite good, his finishing not so much.

I dunno, he scored loads for Blackburn U21s. He looked like a lad that had all the ability but zero confidence.

Add in 10k crowds and it's a struggle.

What is the latest with John Jules? Seems to have dropped out of contention altogether. If he goes back to Arsenal and we lose Wintle there will be gaps in the squad

Real shame re Jo.

We could do with a big unit like him with technical ability in this division.

No idea whats gone on with him but he's young enough to resurrect his career if he can.

I personally think that he suffered under Larry. How was he supposed to attack when he was asked to defend so often? I wish the lad well.

Saying that, I don’t see him playing for us again.

Sure he didn’t have one though, it’s a mystery! Maybe shop window v Hartlepool
He will only be in the shop window in "bounce" games I'm guessing.
He has apparently had a "strange" injury but is fit again and the club wants to help him move on.
As for Hartlepool, Critch obviously wants to win so don't expect us to play a reserve team.

If Nuttall has had a complete resurgence and Madine is injured, there is literally no reason not to put him on the bench.

Last week I was hoping Keogh or Marvin got chucked up front. That is how light of presence we are up front at times.

We have none without wor Gaz and at times that is painfully obvious. Nuttall is no one's ideal answer to that problem but currently, (until Jan) he is the only other player we have who has a bit of beef about him up front and IF he's found his mojo then....

Super Joe for England!!!

He won't be.
He's not in Critch's plans,
End of.

Potential is still in their for Joe, if anyone can get the best out of him it's Critch I'm just glad the lad has his head cleared that's the most important thing

Get rid. Drain on the clubs resources. Trawl the league 2 and conference clubs and see if they’ll chip in to his wages, even £200 is still £200 saved. Think Lubala would get a bite but Nuttall nah
