Jordan Gabriel

If fitness is not an issue, JG starts most games for me.

Makes me wonder how many different starters there will be on Weds compared to the first Forest game. Critchley definitely likes to keep the opposition guessing, perhaps too much.

This discussion is a no brainer - what do people not understand about squad rotation ?

We’ve just played 3 games in 6 days ( D, W, W) and that will, by next Saturday, 5 matches in 13 days (whilst the Prem League Clubs enjoy their hard earned mid-season holiday.)

You can’t flog your best starting line up to death for every match especially those coming back from injuries (long / short term) Gabriel/Lavery etc & others - if (and it’s a big IF,) we could turn over Forest, I think the confidence that will be created could easily see our season & outlook change dramatically

I think a few players were playing today with one eye on Wednesday. I know it shouldn't happen but it's only natural.

Jordan Gabriel deserves to start and I just wish we would revert to 4-4-2 because 3-5-2 makes the defense vulnerable on the flanks and light in midfield.

Forest have played 22 games with a squad of 500 players. We've played 37 without the massive back up that Premier sides get.

Rotation is essential.

Gabriel’s had 8/9 months of injuries and very little football since. 2 games in a week is likely a bridge too far at this time. Given the schedule and the heavy winter pitches (both for matches and in training) I imagine there’s a lot of tired legs in the squad and some squad management will be a necessity.

There's a good, short article in today's Gaz about JG.
He's a terrific guy & Blackpool through & through. I truly hope all his injuries are behind him, as he's a vital part of our promotion push.
Extract:
Blackpool is a lot different to what people say.”
"It’s a great place, there’s a lot of lovely people. It’s a proper loving club, and it’s a loving part of the country. Everyone is there supporting each other, and everyone cares. Everyone wants the same things as the players and the staff- we want to win games.

Yeah saw that

I'm glad he's seen through a lot of the negative bullshit, which you can find if you look for it, but also can find the many positive aspects of the town too, tons to do, a lot of good people etc.

So he'll be off before the window closes then 🙄

I hope not Sooty. There's certainly no indication of that - unless NC chooses not to play him, which may attract the attention of other clubs.
JG reminds me very much of John Hills. He's very popular in our Blackpool community, he gives 100%, constantly running up and down the line & never pulls out of a tackle. However, that determination & will to win the ball can often results in injury.
We need JG to stay fit & for NC to select him regularly - he will then lead us to the play-offs.

I think people have to trust Critchley and the physio team. The lad had 2 bad injuries last season and it's vital his game time is managed. We all know he's a class player and his time will come. Ultimately rotating/resting a few players worked on Saturday, so we shouldn't really be questioning the manager. With a clear midweek, it will be interesting to see how we line up against Charlton, as it could be an indicator as to what NC sees as his strongest 11.

No it was just a throwaway comment to JJ. I’d be gutted if he left ATM we need some injury free work from him. Good player IMO.
