Jordan Rhodes interview

He's a very nice man, probably too nice to be a footballer.
He's sounds like he's been a real student of the game and has quite simply taught himself how to score goals.
Enjoying life at Blackpool and very complimentary about his team mates.
He claims what happens in January is out of his hands.

Agree think he would be a decent coach though.
See what happens in Jan but he could be the difference on an 8 million windfall on promotion. Do not think we would lose him to any side not in the north as home life is important to him.
Also complementary on Critch and likened him to Bowyer

Very much so.😉

He simplifies the game
Realises he is not the quickest or the, strongest and bases his game on being where the defenders do not expect him to be and then making a solid contact on the ball in the direction of the goals.
Jordan does what Jordan does.

He can't play for anyone other than us or Huddersfield this season.

A very grounded, philosophical, mature young man.
A cliché yes but he speaks very well indeed.
A 'natural' goalscorer, who works hard in training to be so natural 😉
I personally think he'll stay for the rest of the season, would we sign him IF we were promoted seeing as Huddersfield have farmed him out ?

I think those comments at the end tell you everything.

He’s settled here, and is the happiest he’s been in long time. He’s our talisman is clearly enjoying it. Just seems like a match made in heaven.

I’ve no idea how Huddersfield approach things come January but they have two points to consider. Jordan’s feelings or whether they believe he can do a job for them in the championship.

If it’s the latter then sadly I fear they will take him back.

I hope with his contract running out at the end of the season we are working on deal acceptable to Huddersfield to bring him here permanently.

And hopefully Darren Moore just doesn’t fancy he will do a job for them 👀

There is a big difference between the standards of the defenders in The Championship & League 1, which may benefit us till at least the end of this season .
If we do get promoted , then I guess we could be in the same boat as Huddersfield . Let’s get there first though !

What a measured interview. You can see his professionalism, enthusiasm and integrity in abundance.

Genuinely hope he stays, others will benefit from his presence.

Yes sign him on a 1 plus 1
Certain players flourish at different clubs.
Do not try to tell him what to do, e.g do what Lavery does and chase down defenders, he is intelligent and will always find the space to hurt opposition if left to his own devices

Different type of player of course, but it's the same situation as when we signed Madine?

He couldn't get a Championship gig so drops to us, then a year later he's back there anyway. And generally, once he was fully fit, he showed he could still play there.

Jordan's never been a quick player, so he's not like he's gradually losing his biggest asset. If we went up, we just have to find a way to get him good service and he'll score, it's what he does.

Great interview, comes across as a lovely intelligent family man.
Enjoying life here, playing & scoring, so why would he want to return in Jan to sit on bench. Hopefully stays🙏

If Huddersfield want him on the bench I guess that is what will happen. “He who pays the piper”…

A players’ personal circumstances are key to their performance. Jordan looks like he feels good and therefore, it shows on the pitch.

Loving the guy’s presence in Tangerine so far 👍

First and foremost, what a lovely bloke. Humble and totally unassuming.

He will have a say in what happens in January but you get the sense he's not one to stamp his feet or demand a move. Hopefully between Jordan, Huddersfield and Blackpool they can sort something that is best for all parties, particularly Jordan.

Until then, let's just enjoy someone who is a master of his craft, scoring goals.

Wages would be a problem for a perm deal. I think they'll recall him if, as seems likely he'll have topped 15 by then, maybe 18/19. They'd be foolish not to.

Interesting about coaching. I can imagine that here he is the one doing the coaching, telling players where he'll be in various situations and telling them where and how he wants the ball.

Fantastic interview, what a lovely, humble guy.

I hope we are already talking to Huddersfield to not only try and keep him beyond January, but to try and make his move permanent.

What a nice bloke , very humble , family oriented. Says he’s the happiest he’s been for a long time!
Gary Bowyer has worked him in the past, and he recently said on radio lancs that Jordan Rhodes is such a nice man, that you'd be delighted for your daughter to be engaged to.....or words to that effect.

Something he couldn't say of many footballers.

Hudds will threaten to or may even recall him and try to get some cash for a player who has 6 months left on his contract, who they don't want, who is doing very well for his loan club knowing that we want to keep him.

Fantastic interview! As others have said a really likeable guy and someone our younger players must look up to! Fingers crossed for many more goals from Jordan for Blackpool this season!! 🧡

Comes across as a decent man and decent professional in equal measure.
Offer Huddersfield our tried and trusted £250,000 to secure him and give Rhodes a 1 and a half year contract and hopefully everybody is happy.

Agree with all above - there is the potential for a longer relationship here. Keep as a player for at least 2 years, help him with his badges and get him on the coaching staff.

Futures bright - the future’s 🍊

Top, top guy & a natural goalscorer.
Gary Bowyer (managed Jordan at Rovers) says he's the nicest person in football & a true professional.
His 5 year old son is wearing his BFC kit at his coaching sessions & has bought a Bloomfield Bear from the club shop.
All in all - how can he leave Bloomfield Road? He has to stay to see out his playing career & then become a striker coach.
Thank you for coming to BFC Jordan - stay fit & be continue to be happy.

What a genuine top bloke and great interview. He’s a Blackpool legend already. Please please BFC you must make every effort to keep him.
