Jordan Rhodes - no surgery needed....

...but apparently he's strained the knee ligaments and will be out for "a few weeks".

Mind you, this is via Nixon, so think of it as you will.
And I don't think that any lengthy absence is a "major boost".

That probably means his season with us is over 😣
If that's the case - many thanks Jordan, you have been the ultimate professional.

yes it was mentioned on last nights bbc lancs. yes we could have done with his goal threat but others can step up now and supply the goals.

The coach and his contracted players are at fault. The loan players have kept us out of the mire.
Irrelevant if they're loan players or not who have scored. It's the job of the coach to make sure we set up to score and win games away, not just at home.
Edit to add, how many full games have those contracted strikers you mention had, when injuries and coming off the subs bench are included?
Edit again to add, only two teams have scored more than us at home this season, so that tells me scoring isn't the issue, it's the tactics away from home. I rest my case, no further questions your honour.

Not disputing that. We've a clueless head coach, a bang average set of players who in many cases have regressed under his coaching and that of his two inept assistants.
Yet there are some fans who blinded by their tangerine spectacles still back him and his mentally and physically weak squad.
It doesn't help when we have an owner who is as clueless as his head coach when it comes to the playing side of the club.

Bet he gets offered a 1 + 1 contract with us for next season as hes out of contract at Hudders
As well as he did at the start with his goals, I'm thinking I'd rather we don't offer him a contract. Mainly cos he isn't getting any younger, certainly will only get slower so I'd prefer we push the boat out and get another striker who can threaten in behind. Maybe though we will do both if Lavery goes.

I think you'll also find that we've failed to score in a third of our league games!
A few big wins but no real level of consistency of scoring. Rhodes apart, the players brought in to strike have unfortunately been on strike when it comes to scoring goals.

At 34 and becoming injury prone it would be a big risk to sign him.

Not at all. He's probably the best most experienced voice in the whole set up. Even if he never kicks another ball for us - which I really hope is not the case.
We need to get a grip. Signing dross from Sutton Utd reserves and now even debating whether to sign a 34 year old. We are going to be stuck in League One for a very long time unless expectations and standards are raised.

We shouldn't sign him in my opinion. We need to focus on quality next season and at 34, it would be a no from me.
If we sign somebody better than Rhodes then the signs will be good for next season. Just don’t see that happening.

We've only failed to score at home in 3 games, and one of those was against the League leaders and down to 10 men. As I've said, it's the away set-up and mentality, not that we can't score goals.

Been a joy to watch Rhodes this season.

2nd half of the season has been frustrating for him to say the least.

Hopefully we see him again in Tangerine before the end of the season.

I would happily have him back for next season on a free if we are still in league one.

I think most of us are used to your persistent negativity but to label a young man learning his trade "dross" is, frankly, insulting.

The players are above average for this league otherwise we would be mid-table.

Or are you saying they have over achieved ?

Which is it ?

Learning his trade at the expense of Blackpool getting results. An absolute joke. My anger is aimed at Critchley. The young man is just a victim of poor management and recruitment.

" The journalist added that there will be no need for the 34-year-old to have surgery and that he will be ready for the club's promotion push."

So presumably starting at Derby?
