Jordan Thorniley

Notice Oxford are looking to make him permanent in January - always felt a bit bad for him really. Important player last season who really showed his worth. Understood losing either him or Turton but not both of them?
I thought he was excellent last season and was shocked to see him go out on loan! Did seem he was only used last season because of so many injuries - proved his worth in my eyes and would have given him a shot this season. Good luck to him if he does make a permanent move!

He did very well when called upon last season, I wasn't shocked to see him go out on loan but I was a bit disappointed.

I didn't think he had the physical attributes to play at centre back with 4 in defence and assumed that was the reason Critchley didn't fancy him there, but he's happy to play Husband in that roll......

Good player, perfectly suited to playing on the left of a back 3, wish him well as he seemed to just keep his head down and get on with it, then when he was needed he stepped and and did really well.

Good luck to him if this is true, and if it happens. He was very good for us last season when called on. Very professional of him as well considering how far down the pecking order he seemed to be. Apart from a game where he was bullied by a big CF (Tranmere?) and subsequently subbed, he looked a good CB. Don't think he got a fair chance, but that's just my opinion

Maybe he could form part of a Cameron Branniigan deal (creative midfielder,England U18's and 5 ft 11)?
All the best to him, he's happy there apparently.

No pace. Husband is as good in the air and quicker. I still don't want him at centre half...

JT lives near to me and is best mates with a neighbour, who played with him at Crewe.
He was disappointed to have to leave Pool and is in a rented house in Oxford with his family. He's earned high praise at Oxford & won several MOM awards. He does want to make the move permanent January & hopes Pool will agree to it.
He never let us down, but in my opinion, he would now be well behind the pecking order.
Good luck to Jud wherever he ends up in January.

Good luck to the lad and as said above when given his chance, never let us down

but IMO he would be behind

Keogh
Gretarsson
& Husband

I thought he looked a bit lightweight until he won me over in that extended run of games he played up to the playoffs.
He seemed to have time on the ball and looked to use it constructively.
Some of his diagonals were inch perfect.

What I wouldn’t give to have someone who can do that now. Probably the reason Critchley wants rid is because he passes the ball forwards and nor backwards.

He did improve a lot when he had a run in the team but for me he wasn’t good enough.Susceptible to ball over the top and thought his distribution was careless.

I think there was a video last season showcasing Gretarsson doing something similar but it's been difficult for him to get in the starting eleven this season.

He was one of my favourite players and we seemed to do well when he was in the team

Yep, as someone said, he was very professional about everything last season when we needed cb cover most. I just think that, in the Championship with higher presses and games played with more intensity, he might have struggled with a lack of pace. Wish him well.
