I think the answer to that is he doesn’t. He’ll be back up to Robson who’s probably impressed me the most out the new signings.

Wonder what he’s like at centre back? There may be games where we have an injury, or rest players, or if our defence keeps leaking soft goals Critchley might decide to give them some protection. I think he’ll get some football.

I would imagine he could be employed in the old fashioned Sweeper role if we were holding on to a tight lead, but this is only an opinion !

I think in Mitchell and Robson we have two players with massive potential. Could be huge for us if they stay fit.

I think he plays instead of Ward.

Robson played well against Barrow in a less defensive midfield role.

Play Williams as the holding MF to allow Robson and Anderson to play further forward.

We’ve got so many options it’s great. In the midfield 3 we’ve the players yesterday, with Williams looking a solid holding mid, Virtue who’s a good alrounder with a goal in him. Sarkic looks to have a pass in him, not seen the best of him yet I hope. Then there is kemp who reminds me a bit of ronan, Good feet, hard worker and vision, I think he could do a good job in the middle. Antwi looked good pre season but I wonder if there are too many more “ready” options ahead of him (maybe a loan for him?).

Robson looks a proper player.

But they did play alongside each other against Barrow and I thought it worked. It meant Robson got forward a lot more with some good runs into the box.
