Joseph

Obviously glad he’s back , but slightly surprised. A couple of weeks ago Critch said Matty Virtue was likely to be fit earliest , followed by Jordan Gabriel , and that Joseph was after them . So what’s happening with the other two ?

The apostrophes were otiose, and if used:—

- there shouldn’t be a gap after the full stop.
- the second apostrophe should come before the full stop.

Typical smart arse old Arnoldian 🤫
What gap after the full stop? I see no gap. The apostrophes were not otiose but they should have been quotation marks. Yes, the closing quotation mark should have preceded the full stop.

What is wrong with:

Grimshaw
Lyons-Ekpiteta-Casey-Husband
CJ-Dougall-Norburn-Dembele
Lavery-Rhodes

I've never seen such a shambles of a formation that we currently have.
I wouldn't mind it but I doubt it'll change now. We did pre season in the current formation and should have hit thr ground running.

That's supposedly one reason we went back.

People were mentioning Lavery out with a hammy injury just before kick off. If true my first thought was- was it the plastic pitch at Bromley?

Agree though, Lavery was just coming into some form again and I was disappointed he wasn’t with us today.
Probably why he's at Blackpool. If he was injury free and able to play regularly at his ideal weight then he could be a decent League 1 player.

3-5-2 will never work. It's going to make fans give up. Critchley won't change it though as it will look like a failure on his part.

When he is fully fit Critchley will coach out of him any positive attacking ambitions he has. Rhodes hasn't scored for 5.5 hours after bagging 9 in 9 games.

Cos at the moment the wingback system isn’t
It is though…

433 would be a complete disaster… gives us the worst of all worlds.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with 352… Its a system that Ian Evatt has put his faith in. The system that saw Luton promoted to the Prem against the odds.

It might take a bit of time for us to bed in and gel 100% and we might need one or two additions, but it is undoubtedly the best way for us to go, if we want to see good football.

The only missing ingredients right now are a bit of patience and steel in our fanbase. We will be successful 👍

Didn't realise how tall he was, imagined him to be Lavery's height. I do remember him getting outpaced to be fair by the defender, and I reckon he should have tried to sell the penalty shout more - the ref was never gonna give it cos he tried to stay on his feet.

Hard to make any proper judgement on him with a 10 minute cameo, glad to have him back though after the injury. Hope he can crack on now.

352 can work but not the way we play it. It’s too bloody slow from back to front resulting in it being difficult to create chances etc due to the opposition having all their men back. We’re massively underachieving with this squad.

Will be a cracking player when he gets up to speed, seen him play a few times down the years and he’s always impressed me.

I thought he looked shit. Slow and outpaced by a Bolton defender. Wasn't expecting much though after being out for so long.
I've seen Harry Kane outpaced by defenders does that make him shit? You just make yourself look stupid with comments like that. Hopefully he can get a run of minutes on the pitch and get up to match fitness.

Yes, spoke to him. Hamstrung
It's a real shame he suffers so much with this injury as it is becoming a real hinderance to the team as well as being frustrating for him. He is going to be out till after Christmas and then has to het match fit again and could easily do it again if he is susceptible to it. His contract is up at the end of the season isn't it? He may not get a renewal.

Ffs was you there? After a lengthy injury he came onto the pitch and straight away was in a sprint against a slightly faster defender and was just beaten to the ball. I assume you think he’s shit because of that? In my eyes he bust a gut trying to impress and I’m thankful he didn’t pull a hamstring. He was trying for the time he was on the pitch and looked lively. Personally I would have eased him in using the Morecambe friendly. That said Critch sees him training and he was ready so great stuff. I’m hoping he will be a great player for us and we could do with some wordsmithery from Raggy and co and a nice new song for the lad. Players generally react well to appreciative fans. I’m not sure ATG will bother to sing tho.

I was singing my heart out. Like everyone else thought, the atmosphere died once we realised the team was incapable of having a shot on target.

The donkey was 30 years later. Jesus entered Jerusalem on it to be annointed king of the Jews. In fact, it was an ass. Come to think of it, we do need a second coming 'Cos he'd do a damned sight better than Netanyahu.
Assuming Ted Hastings was referring to the Easter narrative that was indeed 30 years later. But given the last time Joseph is mentioned in the New testament is in Luke where Jesus attended the temple 12 years of age and he's not mentioned in the story of jesus's, crucifixion and resurrection. It's likely he had passed away by then, especially as Jesus would not have entrusted Mary to John's care if his father was still alive and had he been alive, Joseph would have been responsible for taking care of Jesus' body rather than Joseph of Arimathea.

However, I'd always assumed he was referring to the donkey that a pregnant Mary rode to Bethlehemfor the census as described in the Christmas narrative
