The fact is, he's only made 9 or 10 appearances and only two of those have been more than 45 mins. Nowhere near enough to tell properly imo.

It took Yates 9 games I think to score his first goal for us btw. And all those appearances were full game, or almost full game appearances.

Give him a chance.
 
From the relatively little I've seen of him, he has played behind the front two quite a lot (at home), playing some decent creative passes
Didn't see the game today, but I think he needs more time in the CF role, which I don't think he's had yet due to the success/quality of Rhodes at this level.

I was amazed he didn’t take the shot at the end. A striker who needs a goal and so did we for the win. Disappointing tbh. But a great game overall and our fans did us proud as usual.

He's had maybe 5 hours of competitive football this season. Thought he did ok today, was in the right places, a bit more confidence and / or game time and he might have tucked away the chance he had.
Needs a couple of goals to get going properly.

He's like Yates in that he works really hard for the team as well,

But Yates offered far more besides goals.
 
Yes let’s write someone off or better still crucify him.
We have some real arseholes(I actually wanted to say a lot lot worse) on here who supposedly support our team but quite frankly can’t wait to have a go at the manager,the players and the owner.
Personally I wish them all a very unhappy New Year clowns…as for Tense Grin especially you.

Looks good to me and still very early days.

I'm not writing him off. I'm wondering what sort of striker he is. You need to read before you write. As for being an areshole you are making one of yourself with your reply. A happy New Year to you as well

Only a couple of months ago people said we had the better deal.

Let's not judge him too quickly, his few minutes here and there aren't enough to go off and he was behind everyone else's fitness.

Any striker that is banging them in this league or even league two will go to a championship team. We have to sign young(ish) players and hope we can improve them to sell on exactly like Yates. We have to be patient with signing unfortunately.

Glad to be an arsehole if it makes you feel better.
 
Clearly lacking match confidence/sharpness but the initial control/turn was nice just wish he pulled the trigger.

I definitely think there’s a player in there and comparing him to Yates is a bit silly really, Yates is 27 and Joseph is 22.

He will come good 👍
 
Yeah Rhodes didn’t score or get a shot away, or create an assist, or do a step over, or burn their defence for pace. He can go back the old donkey.

Ffs the kid made one bad decision. He should have shot and tried to play in another player. I’m sure he’d wished he had his time again to be a hero. He will come good.
 
I believe in him. There’s a reason he’s here. Today he was in the right place at the right time. Rhodes will help him understand the game. Give him time.
