Joseph

A lot of his trouble is his lack of pace and his speed off the mark. I do like how he fights and keeps or wins balls. Perhaps a good pre-season and a run of games is what he needs.

He’s gone backwards & currently looks like another Nuttall. He’s here next season so we’ll see if he actually does what we bought him to do. Preferably under a new manager. Dobbie in🙄

If he has a son, he’d better call him Jesus, then maybe he’ll work a miracle on his dad, that’s assuming his wife’s called Mary

As a well qualified coach, NC has a good reputation. Why hasn't he & his two trusted assistants been able to develop & iron out the weaknesses of KJ?
There must be a good player in there somewhere. Maybe a new manager and decent coaching assistants would make him into the player that he could be?

It's like groundhog day on this board sometimes. He IS a good player and he CAN finish. He's done it before. Was excellent at Wigan. Oxford, who just beat us to the playoffs, really rated him and wanted him back. He's not done it for us this season but that doesn't mean he can't. It's not football manager, it's real life with humans who are affected by lots of things.

I'm going to use an obvious example to make my.point in the absence of a whiteboard to draw a you a picture - Stephen Crainey - I worked in Leeds when we signed him and to a man, Leeds fans told me he was a useless waste of space. Were they right?? No they were not.

Excellent at Wigan and Oxford? One in four? Not exactly prolific!

I saw him play a few times for Wigan, and yes he was excellent and only 18. I didn't see him for Oxford much but as I say, those who did seem to suggest he did well. He's only 22 now yet written off based on an injury interrupted season in a team who don't create much for the strikers.

Agreed but where were the coaching sessions to improve both his pace and ball control? Not improved all season.

At present, he just seems to be another example of Critchley's dubious judgement about young players. To me, he (Critchley) seems really poor at something he was supposed to be good at.

Wasn't the worst player on the pitch for us. CJ by a ** distance. Awful first half but he was better second.

Feel a bit sorry for Sadler on this because Joseph has been a huge disappointment this season. It's very reminiscent of when he also shelled out a fair amount for Joe Nuttall who turned out to be a dud.We need him to come good next season.

He's been played mainly on the left of three which I don't think suits his game. He's young, will get better and maybe needs a coach who believes in him.

Lots of potential clearly not being well utilised, much like Dale to be honest. Unfair to throw players under the bus when clearly there’s larger issues at play. Would happily have him back at Oxford.
Is that Dale no goals no assists?

Just because you signed Joseph in part exchange for Yates doesn’t make them similar players though. Surely the club knew they weren’t signing a 20 goal a season striker, the evidence is clear…

He’s a project with a high ceiling, but that needs training and regular game time in a formation that suits. Guess you’ll have the summer to try and make better use of him…
