Interesting only a 1+1 deal which is unusual for us there days....maybe shows we think there is potential but need to be convinced for a longer term deal?
I think that is a fair assumption, there are mixed views on this lad, clearly has talent but hasn't made the breakthrough or found consistency. Maybe Critchley is the man to help him.Interesting only a 1+1 deal which is unusual for us there days....maybe shows we think there is potential but need to be convinced for a longer term deal?
Nope, but does that mean I’m not allowed to be underwhelmedI take it you've seen the lad play?
Just the feedback from hull fans, his lack of “men’s” football, the length of the deal, etc.So in what way are you underwhelmed?
We haven’t done that so far so not sure what would make you think thatJust thought we’d be going for a few more tried and tested players / bigger names. Not the type of signing that makes fans want to rush to but a ST.
Injury disrupted time there, they did enquire about signing him so must of shown something, Everton wanted 5 million at that timeWhat do Hull fans think of him?
Nowhere does anyone from the club say we're going for bigger names, unless I missed it?Just the feedback from hull fans, his lack of “men’s” football, the length of the deal, etc.
Tbf I’m probably being too negative, I’ll give him a chance in the shirt for sure - as in critch we trust. Just thought we’d be going for a few more tried and tested players / bigger names. Not the type of signing that makes fans want to rush to but a ST.

Interesting to know, thanksVery pleased with this signing
He joined the school in Woking the year I retired
The PE staff have said he was a humble and very pleasant lad, good listener, great acceleration and left foot and really good on 1:1.
He was outstanding at school, district and county level
Was taken on by Fulham and released before joining QPR
Suffered with some injuries at Hull
Has stated in touch with the PE staff and is desperate to do well with us
Exciting times

The last time I saw that haircut was in the bible.

Tbf I think the signings of dougall, Stewart & garbutt could have been classed as bigger names / tried and tested signings and they’ve turned out alright, a nice balance is best.Nowhere does anyone from the club say we're going for bigger names, unless I missed it?
The model is to develop potential, that's why we brought Critchley in and why he signed up as manager.
Yeah that’s a fair point, I ate my words on my initial thoughts on him when he signed.See the thread “Ellis Simms” for more info.
Sounds alright and been on the cards for a while. Hopefully has a point to prove and can get his career going here.1 year + 1 seems great business.
As a fairly unproven youngster there is a level of risk to this signing, if he turns out not so great after the year we can part ways. If he fulfils his potential we can activate the year and get another out of him, or if he's THAT good we can activate the year and get a big sale off him. Great that we're run by people with actual footballing/business brains
They might not be able to get their first team right for love nor money but they seem to have had some decent young lads who we've helped with and done alright out of too.I am told by a good Evertonian has great attributes many would want and very quick, been unlucky with injuries.
