Not exactly a local derby for me as the 5 hour round trip proved

First proper away derby today for my 3 kids (Blackburn doesn't count because they are as wet as the rain)

Well that was eventful

section removed.

Anyway parked in the Cricket Club and had a pint in the sun, then a walk to the ground

It never fails to amaze me how many time people rock up at 2.55 and then spend the next 10 minutes or so trying to find their allocated seats, ffs sit where you want it just causes hassle

As it proved with folk shouting at each other in the gangways, stewards hopeless as is the norm, making things worse

Then the normal stuff of people telling other people to sit down ffs.... i had 3 kids with me the youngest a 9 year old girl who had absolutely no problem in standing up for the whole game

What is it with some people? its a football match and a passionate derby at that, not a night at the opera

We started shite, strange seeing bowler playing in the middle(even though i called it in the week)

2 nil down in rapid time, one back game on and then a third before half time

Thats it game over i thought ...

But oh no

We had a proper go, Gabriel down the right and Bowler back in his correct position, faster to the ball and a better press

Bang bang 3.3 in no time

Jerry massive chance probably should have squared it

Then the sending off, Carey taking one for the team well done young man, never a red though

The 8 mins of injury time was painful but in the end a well deserved point

The walk back to the car wasn't great, the white walkers were not a happy bunch, trying to get through the wall (well actually a wire fence) saw a few scuffles in the car park with the dingles who managed to get through then finally on the road home out of the sess pit that is East Lancashire

All in all a good day and a very decent point against a very good side

The kids seemed to enjoy the thrill of it all...

Hopefully the cheque book comes out this week as we are very short in midfield

Utmp ...

Carey taking one for the team, goals for most of our strike force, grit and determination and a well deserved point.
What it highlights is that we’ve the bones of a squad that can compete in this division, with a few decent signings we can be up there, especially with one of the best young managers around 😉👍
Not just bones in this squad, but a decent level of 'right-time shithousery' all over the pitch. Appleton has brought that. Quitchley prefers to be the potato peeler in the kitchen at Acorn Antiques

White walkers ?

Did the kids enjoy the match, whole day or just the CC car park fighting ?

Honestly, what an idiot, firstly to have the self awareness to think that a post from you was something people were waiting for, then your just horrible and aggressive responses to other peoples opinions.
I don’t get it, you talk a lot of sense at times, then just blow it out the window with the aggressive bollocks?, don’t get it pal.

I take it you didn't go to the match?

It was fantastic it had everything

Yeah but it didn't work

We looked better when he went wide 😉
True Phil but we had to try something different from the start with a patched up midfield. Josh as the No.10 worked to a certain degree bearing in mind that’s not his natural position, but by doing so we are always better and more dangerous with him in the wide position. Seems to me that Appy did a tactical job on Burnely yesterday 🤔

I agree i just don't think it worked that well with Bowler

Second half however was fantastic 👏

Sums it up

There’s absolutely no way that their player reacts like he did, unless he was brought down by Carey.
Why react? You’ve got the free kick, simpleton. He would have been sent off every week playing against some of the Fleetwood teams in the 70’s and 80’s. I used to sit there rub my shin and laugh at them. They either got subbed or sent off after next tackle/foul

Well yiu don’t react if you’ve bought the foul….

You do react because you’ve been scythed down and have a rush of blood to the head.

. .. ... This is a video of the incident from different angles. Watch the 2nd one slowed down, he does not make contact

Surel
