Not exactly a local derby for me as the 5 hour round trip proved
First proper away derby today for my 3 kids (Blackburn doesn't count because they are as wet as the rain)
Well that was eventful
section removed.
Anyway parked in the Cricket Club and had a pint in the sun, then a walk to the ground
It never fails to amaze me how many time people rock up at 2.55 and then spend the next 10 minutes or so trying to find their allocated seats, ffs sit where you want it just causes hassle
As it proved with folk shouting at each other in the gangways, stewards hopeless as is the norm, making things worse
Then the normal stuff of people telling other people to sit down ffs.... i had 3 kids with me the youngest a 9 year old girl who had absolutely no problem in standing up for the whole game
What is it with some people? its a football match and a passionate derby at that, not a night at the opera
We started shite, strange seeing bowler playing in the middle(even though i called it in the week)
2 nil down in rapid time, one back game on and then a third before half time
Thats it game over i thought ...
But oh no
We had a proper go, Gabriel down the right and Bowler back in his correct position, faster to the ball and a better press
Bang bang 3.3 in no time
Jerry massive chance probably should have squared it
Then the sending off, Carey taking one for the team well done young man, never a red though
The 8 mins of injury time was painful but in the end a well deserved point
The walk back to the car wasn't great, the white walkers were not a happy bunch, trying to get through the wall (well actually a wire fence) saw a few scuffles in the car park with the dingles who managed to get through then finally on the road home out of the sess pit that is East Lancashire
All in all a good day and a very decent point against a very good side
The kids seemed to enjoy the thrill of it all...
Hopefully the cheque book comes out this week as we are very short in midfield
