Observations from today's game....
* first half was absolutely awful
* Start of H2 not much better
* After 60 mins when Appleton made subs bringing off Yates and Lavery, the fans started chanting 'you don't know what you are doing'
* He also went to a 4-4-2 formation from 4-3-3
* These changes were brave and completely changed the game, so maybe he does know what he is doing?
* Decisions went for us today, in particular for the goal machine who could have been given a straight red for a stamp tackle and also he did a subtle push on the defender before his goal
* All in all, a point gained 👍

Agree with what you say. Appleton needs to be given time. Our injury woes to date haven’t helped him!

I don’t think anyone understood the 2 subs on 60 minutes but it did actually improve our performance, obviously coupled with the introduction of Poveda at the start of the second half.
I think the first half was one of the poorest performances I have ever witnessed as a Blackpool supporter.
How many times do we try and play out of defence when we are under immense pressure.
As the saying goes. “Clear your lines”
To me Dougal seems to be going backwards and sorry to say he is not Championship quality and I am beginning to have doubts about Lavery. His temperament is very questionable.
Yes we are hit by unprecedented injuries but I still do not believe Appleton is the man to keep us in this Division.
Another 90 mins where he stood motionless with hands in pockets in his technical area.
I’ll bet at half time the Cardiff manager was telling his players that we were there for the taking and to seize the opportunity to increase their goal tally.
In the words of Jimmy Greaves. “It’s a funny old game” and on another day the penalty would have been given (and correctly so) and Madine would have been sent off (also correctly)

We're not going to survive on playing betterfor only 30 minutes a match. Birmingham should have been clear ahead before we equalised, and we weren't dramatically better after the changes imo.

No one could have argued with the team selection. Indeed no one did. The cupboard is bare.

First half we were woeful. Dougall couldn't make a pass and Patino was very off particularly. Options for change were limited and even I called the Povada for Dougall swap. it looked like MA kicked their assess at half time.

I would prioritise a couple of key players coming in rather than swapping MA out. Given the options after NC deserted us I just can't see a decent candidate coming out of the pack. The decision for me would be down to the feeling in the dressing room and behind closed doors. No one can know. Imbecilic speculation on here doesn't count.

Injuries have been the main factor, but it's impossible to argue that the incoming players have been good enough.

If I hear one more moan about MA not fist pumping etc .....
