Just got home

Well I set off knowing the most likely outcome and I was right.

I have no idea what the issue with our away performances is but they are consistently poor and today was another example.

Never been to Burton before, but it's always a bit odd having a football stadium in an industrial estate.

I think I should mention the staff; all the ones I came across were friendly and helpful, including the stewards.

The match day announcer was so clear and what a warm approach he had. None of the shouty stuff we have to put up with. I guess, they are trying to be a friendly club and if they are, they appear to be succeeding.

I enjoyed standing on terracing. I wish we could bring it back.

And the numbers who travelled today was commendable

And that's it.

The match was so very poor

I got out of the ground and onto the A38 really quickly; got held up on the A1M for over 30 minutes.

As I said to TSSJr3 on the way out of the service station, football is the thing which allows us to spend time together; the highs and lows of a shared experience, whether we win, lose or draw - it's the only thing which makes days like today worth it.

I once went to Mansfield with my mate Mason kid. We lost 4-0, never had a shot, broke down on the way home...the milk of human kindness and shared memories thing took a back seat that day

I'm sure it did; but all this time later you remember.

Burton is certainly a strange day out. Able to park 400 yards from the stadium. The ground makes AFC's look like Wembley. Agree about standing up and being so close to the action. Straight out the ground, into the car and off on the way home.
Pity about the football.

Good post. One of my lads when we got home said “thanks for today dad enjoyed it, shame about the football”. Summed it up really.

I remember that game as well. Pissed it down and no roof. May be exaggerated in my memory but personal low point watching Pool. But as you say memorable as well.
