Sullay Kaikai is simply not good enough! He is surely an expensive luxury and in my opinion it would be a positive for BFC if he were to be sold. As it stands he is stealing a living...
Sadly have to agree nowSullay Kaikai is simply not good enough! He is surely an expensive luxury and in my opinion it would be a positive for BFC if he were to be sold. As it stands he is stealing a living...
Past seasons??Hate to say it but I think this long standing injury has fucked him. One of my favourite players in past seasons but doesn’t seem as fast/confident on the ball as he used to be.
What's he like at cricket?I think he is literally a fair weather player.
Good in autumn and spring, not so good in winter.
id agree in a 442 or a 433 with two holding midfielders he is a square peg in a round whole. hes not suited to the wing i think its unfair to say hes lazy, he does his work in chasing back and trying to help out defensively but hes not that kind of player. i think he would be beter as a player behind the front two. i think at the moment hes better utilised as a sub when defences are tiring and his passing can open them up a bit.Sully is a quality player, but he’s not a winger, he’s an attacking central midfielder. The trouble is, he doesn’t fit in there, the way we set up.
so who’s going to buy him then?Soz, I started another thread without seeing yours. I've asked for it to be closed down.
Basically, Kaikai should be sold.
Do you remember Peter Barnes winning young player of the year & one of the most cringeworthy non speech moments of all time.It all depends what you want - for those of us of a certain age Kaikai will always be a ‘Peter Barnes’ sort of player....
Does fk all but wander about on the wing for 85 minutes, but is capable of changing the game with 5 minutes of magic. Trouble is, he’s not producing those 5 minutes of magic at present.
But I believe he can & will.
Whether you’ve the patience to live with that is another matter....
Similarly - and I know this won’t be popular - I can remember days when Alan Suddick just didn’t seem interested & frankly didn’t put a shift in.
Don’t get me wrong - The King was & is my all-time hero, but he wasn’t infallible. Equally, I’m not saying Kaikai comes even close to AS, but he is of the same style, in that if you want players who are going to be able to wring their shirt out after every game, then he’s never going to be your man.
The question with him (as it is with other players)...what is his best position these days? I know there is a player in there but he has been very poor this season and has gone from being a 1 good game every 4 games to a one good game in 8Kaikai is a quality player
We aren't getting the best of him as he's being played as a left midfield player in a 442
Its up to the manager and coaches to get the best out of him
Btw not one players has shone in that position this season
If we are going to play 442 might as well play Garbutt on the left and Gabriel on the right instead of playing players out of position
Kaikai won us points this season against Wigan and MKD when players further forward
But hey lets not let that stop the blood letting
We certainly wouldn't have beaten Wigan and MKD without his goalsThe question with him (as it is with other players)...what is his best position these days? I think he can offer plenty but at the moment we just are not getting anything out of him...at the moment he is showing his sulky skills instead of his Silky onesFace the facts Phil, he's lazy and hides for most of the time that he's on the pitch. He offers nothing.
I wouldnt play this system as you well know...problem is we cannot afford passengers and that is precisely what Kai Kai has been in the last EIGHT gamesWe certainly wouldn't have beaten Wigan and MKD without his goals
Left midfield in a 4 certainly isn't his position
Neither is it Lubalas, Woodburn or Yatess position
Or even Keshis, Kemps or Sarkics
I will ask again who has played well this season in that role when we have played that system?
No one Phil because Kaikai starts every ** game in that position regardless of previous performance. We certainly wouldn't have beaten Wigan and MKD without his goals

Agree except Madine, hopefully the wage cap, which affects all league1, means he will extend. Unless a championship calls of course.Apart from Maxwell I dont think any of last years batch are good enough for a team hoping to go up to the Championship...Husband and Turton can be released at the end of the season...Virtue is struggling to break in...Thorniley and Howe will be gone...Madine will go because of wages...Kai Kai is going backwards
Think he’s fast running out of chances. It should be a privilege to be a professional footballer. There’s no excuse for lack of application when people are starving out thereSo, Sulky Kaikai then ? Doesn't bode well does it ?
Well said Phil he's definitely not a left winger/Midfielder could work in a 3 up top but that system is awful with our strikers we have.We certainly wouldn't have beaten Wigan and MKD without his goals

Its up to the manager and coaches to get the best out of him with a system that also works for all our players

Mention of Prendergast has put me off my supper!Absolutely spot on. We're not using him right, he's getting shit all the time from left right and centre and actually, today he came as close as anyone did to scoring, was part of two decent chances, almost pulled a stupidly good trick off on halfway, tackled back and stopped a move after Husband had been overlapped and a few other things but let's just blame Sullay for everything and anything.
Why he took him off ahead of Bez is a mystery.
Think some people would be happier with Rory Prendergast clumping up and down the touchline 'putting a shift in'
'At least he put a shift in'Mention of Prendergast has put me off my supper!
My lasting memory is of his white boots looking far too big or that he'd put his boots on the wrong feet'At least he put a shift in'
Yeah, I don't remember white boots, but I remember it seemed like his boots were far too heavy for him. He lumbered. He had no pace at all, did all his 'tricks' in slow motion and was useless, except if he was at the dead ball line, he could cross it really well, it was just he almost never got there so that skill was fairly moot.My lasting memory is of his white boots looking far too big or that he'd put his boots on the wrong feet
I need another beer after discussing him!Yeah, I don't remember white boots, but I remember it seemed like his boots were far too heavy for him. He lumbered. If I mention Zarco Grabovac, you'll need to reach for the whiskey. Throw in Matt Shaw and you'll need absinthe at the very least.I need another beer after discussing him!
