Unlikely to be too worried personally about the cost of living and energy prices, eh?
On what basis do ordinary working people vote these old Etonians into positions of power?

Like all MP's; the majority of the people who voted in his constituency thought he was the best person to represent their interests in Parliament.

It appears as though the majority of the country look at people beyond the school they attended (which is most likely a parental choice, not something most 11 year olds have much of a say in) and their personal wealth, which isn't a barometer of success or failure and much more towards whether, on balance, they'd do a better job than the other people on the ballot.

A lot of what I'm reading on here is just divisive class war rhetoric. By all means disagree with the economic sanity of what he's just put out (I really don't think it'll work and find the whole thing bizarre) but that has nothing to do with the messenger - who can be changed pretty quickly.

I'm also hoping the name calling is just childish, rather than the whiff of racism in using a non-Anglicised name as part of an insult.

All very 1970's and Alf Garnett.

His net worth is hardly huge!

And he's one of the poorer Tory MPs. 😟

It fooking is when these hugely privileged 11 year olds are giving each other ministerial positions 40 years later. Don't kid yourself. It's been happening since Eaton opened in 1440. It's a self serving club and despite your obvious sycophancy towards this gang of toffs, you won't get in the club pal.

Not sure why you think it's sycophancy. I said you can hardly blame him for the school his parents sent him to; and if hadn't been elected by a majority of his constituents, he wouldn't be in a position to get the role in the first place.

I've no desire to join the club, so no great loss.

Edited to add; I don't think I've ever voted for anyone who went to Eton - not that it would be a deciding factor.

Nothing even slightly racist about Kamikwasi, he is nosediving the economy so kamikaze is appropriate.
Just as Tony Bliar and Therese Mayhem were appropriate and not racist.

Not at all - they could be quoting the equity.

I actually thought he was worth multiples of the figure mentioned.

In comparison that labour bloke Jezza is worth over £3m!
Yes, but he's been a white middle-class MP in London for decades, of course he's minted. Don't want 'others' to join that club do they.

£800k is a paltry net worth for anyone owning property in London. He must be one of the poorer MPs based in the South East from either side of the house. Having said that, I reckon you have to be somewhat shallow to judge someone's ability to do their job on the basis of how much money they have.

I'll be shallow. Corblimey has estimated net worth of £3 million. Not bad for being not very good.
