Karamoko Dembele is...

It's a bitter irony that he has been so good, that we probably won't be able to sign him permanently.

Maybe if we go up we could secure him for another season or even on a permanent - I mean if kids in care is worth 1.5 million to Simon Sadler, what must Karamoko Dembele be worth?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I would imagine not as much, if you actually think about your sentence.

Tbf he wasn’t fit when he arrived, nobody is great every game not even Messi. His goals/assists will be up there with the best midfielders.

He's the second highest assist maker from midfield in the division and the sixth highest scorer from midfield in the division.

He's played less games than everyone above him in those two charts.

I've not got time to add it all up and work out if he's definitely got the highest goals+assists per game but I would strongly suspect he does.

On top of this. I read a stat a little while ago that he has a ludicrously high level of completed dribbles. The only player in league 1 or 2 with a similar success rate at that point?

Rob Apter.

The best player in League One by a country mile plus numerous other indicators of large distances, discuss. I can't think of anyone who even comes close.
He isn’t the best player in L1 though

He makes the top 10 for me

Paddy Lane
Mason Clarke
Poku
Mendez Laing

All better for starters

He has the skills to take us up via Wembley, then perhaps we could afford him and he may well want to stay.

why would he want to sign for us in all honesty with the sort of dross we have served up for most of this season. I could understand if we were playing like we did first half of championship season, or back in the Ollie days but not now, he will be off somewhere better and who could blame him
Very, very sadly, I suspect that will be true. Even worse, he could sign on at PNE…..

Nothing stupid about it. As said above he wasn’t even starting half the games earlier in the season.

He’s also too lightweight and easily gets shoved off the ball. Can’t argue about his skills though.

Thankyou. Some people's judgement is WAY over the top. He has flashes of brilliance and certainly looks to have tremendous ability but in a lot of games he is completely anonymous and as you say too small to have any effect on a game where the ball is being punted about by 6'2" League 1 hoofball merchants.

That is literally his job to show flashes of brilliance. That's how football works. Score goals and make assists. You aren't going to be in the game all the time.

But I can tell you now, he's had a far bigger impact on our team than any other player has this season bar Rhodes. And that should be cherished.

2 months ago you said he's probably worth less than 500K. Has your opinion changed?

He might want to stay. NC appears to be developing him better than anyone of his previous managers. He is still very young.

He could do with another season with us. Its not a question of Brest just cashing in.

What he wants is also highly relevant and he might not want to chase the cash just yet if he thinks NC is making him a better player.

Anyway thats what im hoping.

He'll be at West Brom or a Norwich or even a Bundesliga side I'd imagine. We won't see him again next season.

He'll be on 10-15k a week somewhere.

I can’t remember seeing a more technically gifted player in a Pool shirt. If the others in the team can create a bit of space for him to prevent opposition doubling up on him as Leyton Orient did then the next 10 (13 games hopefully) will be a joy to watch him play. When Rhodes came on at Shrewsbury his positional play pulled away defenders from him and gave him the space he needs.

Vastly different position obs but our Seamus was right up there with the best we've ever had, our best right back since Sir Jimmy.

Spot on observation. Critchley should be planning for this rather than leaving us light in midfield to accommodate a third centre half.

Next level research that.

To be fair that's probably why apter was loaned out as we had dembele. Two similar players

Here's another fun fact.

Of all the players of any position who have played more that a few hundred minutes (i.e. one or two games or a few sub appearances) Dembele has the best assist per 90 ratio of anyone.

Only Mendez Laing comes close but he's setting up goals more frequently than him.

I don’t think he easily gets shoved off the ball - they usually have to foul him to get it off him!

I don't think there will be a stat for this but I reckon he will be top if there was a stat for output per kg as he must be the lightest player in the league.

He's also top of the fouls against within a 3m radius on the same area of the pitch.

In fact, a bit like the Oak tree at Canterbury cricket ground that the players had to play around, he should have a statue in said 3m area.

I agree. He's a tenacious little fella. Doesn't act , dive , moan or whine. Just bounces right back up and gets on with it. Very refreshing to see in this day n age. Stronger than he looks and such close control that he just bamboozles opposition players.
Oh and he delivers quality set pieces very consistently for one so young, scores goals , provides assists and does the weekly shopping for his dear old gran.
The lad is a rough diamond being carefully polished with every match he plays . We should start the ,' Buy us Dembele the Tangerine Pele' fund straightaway .
