Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner v Miz-Trust and Coffey Mate

There is some speculation in the Press today that the mini-budget is stage one in a dash to the polls in May. A bit like Turkeys voting for Whitsun, perhaps.

A May 2023 election makes sense. There Is no way these tax changes will stimulate the economy. At the lower to mid range the changes aren’t enough to stimulate demand. The bulk of winners earning over £150,000 will simply put their savings away for a rainy day. Watch bonuses for those people suddenly be deferred from March 23 to April 23.
So going to the polls asap is better then waiting for May 24 when 18 months of this will have completed fucked things up.

Also Truss probably has 6 months (at max) before another vote of no confidence from Tory MPS. That will come in the knowledge that Johnson will stand for leadership again and the members want him back.

So why not preempt the party by calling an election, putting this radical pile of shite to the country and seeing whether people are dumb enough to vote it.

Of course Truss does have the advantage of a Labour Party leader who appears unable or unwilling to put across the policies of his party.

In the meantime, of course, the economy of this country will have been blown to bits..

No contest alright, one with no charisma and one with no education. Well maybe that's unfair. She did get a NVQ Level 2 in social care at Stockport Tech. What was it she said? "We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute pile... of banana republic... Etonian... piece of scum" A perfect example of why unqualified trade union officials should never be allowed into politics.

Showing your true colours if you think all our politicians need to be university educated. Pretty nasty to look down your nose at someone for making themsleves enormously successful despite growing up on a council house, with parents who couldn't afford to pay the heating bills and a mother who couldn't read or write.

And the daughter who is a socialistic gobshite.

there are much better female politicians in the Labour ranks like Lisa Nandy and..............,Lisa Nandy

Labour are laying out their policies in full - and costed. Do you not keep up to date?

Right, people should not better themselves. Parliament should not be representative of the population. Trades unionists should not be allowed into politics. You do have a limited view on what should and should not be allowed.

What was it Rayner said? "We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute pile... of banana republic... Etonian... piece of scum" A perfect example of why unqualified trade union officials should never be allowed into politics.

Even Labour MPs were embarrassed by Rayner's rant. And it's not as if it was a one off. She called Tory MP Chris Clarkson "scum" as he was giving a speech in Parliament. Let's face it, she doesn't possess the social graces required to be a cabinet minister.

You don't like her because she isn't of the 'correct' social grade. Jesus ** Christ would you listen to yourself.
You should listen to yourself she's uncouth not a chance in a million Starmer an intelligent bloke would have her as his deputy if he had the choice.
Yet we all love Nandy and Burnham who where hardly born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

What? you think it's just me that regards Rayner as a social disaster? You can blank it out of your mind and pretend it's not true if you want but it doesn't change the facts.
I think there are plenty of people just like you yes. Usually southerners you hear them at away days singing things like 'we pay your benefits'. Think they are better than anyone not of the same breed.

He literally said she wasn't of the social class and she isn't educated. Stop trying to cover for him.

Couldn't give a toss about the poster but you'll defend all things of your beloved political party till the day you die. 👍
I'll defend not looking down your nose at someone who didn't go to uni yes. Couldn't care less if you don't like her for other reasons or the Labour party in general.

Yeah Londoners who vote Labour sing that😜

Yet you make a big song and dance what type of Uni for those nasty Tories double standards.

She’s not been successful

She earns 80k a year and is the deputy leader of the Labour party and an elected MP. She came from a council house where she had to go to her gran's to use the shower because her mum, who was illiterate, couldn't afford hot water.
I couldn’t care less what she earns still doesn’t mean she’s successful and she’s still a nasty bitch👍🏻Oh and stop stigmatising, there’s fuck all wrong with being brought up in a council house.

It doesn't help when the political strategy of boosting spending to get the economy going is in direct conflict with the Bank of England's strategy of reducing inflation by raising interest rates.

Shit show doesn't cover it.

The absolute cope here trying to pretend a woman who won an election and is the second highest official of the Labour party isn't successful. Absolutely amazing.
Hand on heart you honestly think Starmer would choose Rayner as his deputy?
Not a bloody chance it's a stupid way of doing things a boss should always be able to choose his second.

I don't know and it's a complete non-sequiter. Whether Keir Starmer wants her as his number 2 has nothing to do with insulting someone based on their education and 'social class'. Put away left v right, any pre-conceptions you seem to have about me, any other dislike of Rayner or Labour based on what they have said or their policies, and tell me if that's right. That using one's upbringing should be a stick to beat them with. Because I think deep down you would agree that's wrong. This is surely, on a message board of a working class town, universal.

I agree any put downs seem wrong but it has to work both ways you have to treat ALL equal ,the abuse of the new deputy of the Cons who is well liked by cross parties in parliament is in case in point oh and she is a woman.

If you have a specific post of mine you disagree with, reply to it. Otherwise this is invented whataboutism. I had to look up who the deputy Tory even is and found it's Therese Coffey who if you look at my posts you will see I defender her from attacks about her weight that have nothing to do with her policies.

Social graces to be a cabinet minister? Nonsense. She'll do an excellent job. I wish there were more like her. It's about time we had fewer PPEs and more people from ordinary communities in Parliament.

Once. That's enough for you. Perhaps your determination to see her in a bad light was fully satisfied by that one event.
Not really. She’s had a few ‘rants’ over the years and she’s just not my idea of a person/ politician I admire. As I’ve alluded to previously, I prefer Lisa Nandy who is constructive with her arguments and a lot more respectful

Completely missing the point. Rayner is not an academic. That's clear. Plenty more MPs are in the same position. However, her deficiencies are not merely intellectual, but are borne out of ignorance of accepted social behaviour. Why do you thiink she has to keep apologising for her outbursts?

OK, that's reasonable. I think she's grown into the roll and has become beneficial to the Parliamentary party.

Except she's not well liked by anyone.

RMT General Secetary at Labour Conference says( various media) “ Keir Starmer needs to show he empathises with working class people.”🤔
