Kiss of death!Apart from a bout with Covid, he has remained free from injury. I think he is also the only player not to have pulled his hamstring.
Need to get him signed up to another contract
That's him pulling up with a hammy after 20 minutes on Saturday then!!Apart from a bout with Covid, he has remained free from injury. I think he is also the only player not to have pulled his hamstring.
Theres a lot of sense in what you say hereDespite the vitriol he gets on here from a lot of people he is THE most important player Blackpool Fc have signed since the Oyston's left. Without a shadow of a doubt. He changed that season for us when he arrived and he got us promoted.
He is a player's player, a dog of war in the middle of the pitch that always gives 100% doing the horrible stuff for other players and we should be proud to have him.
Already a club legend for me. When he's gone he will be fondly remembered for a long time.
Kenny, Jimmy, Jerry. Huge contributions.Despite the vitriol he gets on here from a lot of people he is THE most important player Blackpool Fc have signed since the Oyston's left.
Indeed but we were so weak in the middle of the park at the beginning of the season. When Dougall came in it all clicked. His ball winning allowed the rest of the team to play.Kenny, Jimmy, Jerry. Huge contributions.
Josh, Marv, Grimmy all contributed well too.
And others of course.
Full vegan diet....wonder if that helps with all that spinach?Apart from a bout with Covid, he has remained free from injury. I think he is also the only player not to have pulled his hamstring.

He had a decent season in the Championship under Critch, somewhat misused by Appleton/McCarthy, although a lot of that came down to recruitment. From who? I post on here often and I've not seen a lot?
Kenny is a very very good top end League One player. He isn't a Championship player.
Appleton in particular and McCarthy took so many players backwards it’s actually staggering. The only player that didn’t seem to struggle under them was Jerry. He had a decent season in the Championship under Critch, somewhat misused by Appleton/McCarthy, although a lot of that came down to recruitment.
To be fair to them, if recruitment doesn't work out, and all you're left with square pegs that you need to hammer into round holes, there's only so much the gaffer is going to be able to do.Appleton in particular and McCarthy took so many players backwards it’s actually staggering. The only player that didn’t seem to struggle under them was Jerry.
Just as he paired well with Stewart and Wintle. I think Kenny is neither a DM nor an AM, he is a bit of an all rounder. The balance has to be right in midfield obviously, and we didn't get that right last season. To be fair to MA, he had to make do with Bridcutt as a partner for Kenny and he was never fit. MA didn't fancy Kenny from early on though, iirc. Didn't fit into his way of thinking, probably because of him not fitting as an AM or a DM.The Norburn signing has helped him enormously, he’s now not on his own in midfield.
Agree 100% with that LA1. IMO he got to a stage where he didn’t look interested at all and I remember posting on here at the time how he was avoiding tackles.Appleton in particular and McCarthy took so many players backwards it’s actually staggering. The only player that didn’t seem to struggle under them was Jerry.
I think all the players inferior and older brothers were playing for us last season we were that poor! That must of been Kenny Dougall's inferior older brother playing for us last season, welcome back the Doug's we all know and love.
All players are more effective in a lower division, obviously. And he was fine in the Championship when the team was set up effectively, and he had players around him who were comfortable.Dougall struggles with the pace of the championship where he is hurried and rushed a lot more.He is a lot more effective at this level with that extra few seconds thinking time.
Maybe I'm being pedantic here - yes, they were good goals - but I'd choose Morty's 3rd in 1953.His two goals in the 2021 play off final were as good as anything we have scored in a final. the game was never in doubt after them.
Wasn't left foot right foot though was it?Maybe I'm being pedantic here - yes, they were good goals - but I'd choose Morty's 3rd in 1953.
its all a bit subjective i suppose. but as we have been in so many finals its quite a choice. could some bright techno fan put a compilaton together and not forgetting the 1948 and 1950 cup finals . but his goals were pretty decent.Wasn't left foot right foot though was it?
No, it was leather the bastard.Wasn't left foot right foot though was it?
Oh, and the goal I celebrated in almost orgasmic fashion...Paul Simpson's goal at Cardiff. After that I was too drained to celebrate Brett's 4th.Maybe I'm being pedantic here - yes, they were good goals - but I'd choose Morty's 3rd in 1953.
my favourite play off final.Oh, and the goal I celebrated in almost orgasmic fashion...Paul Simpson's goal at Cardiff. After that I was too drained to celebrate Brett's 4th.

Sorry to read that mate.I wish my old workmate Andy Sharples hadn't celebrated Brett's goal like he did, he collapsed and died behind that goal in Cardiff.
Sorry to read that mate.
Very sad to hearHe hadn't been well, just got out of hospital after pneumonia and the docs said "take it easy, don't do anything to get stressed." I think he was only late 30s.
@Fylde Seasider - I think I was near that incident that day - so sorry for your loss.I wish my old workmate Andy Sharples hadn't celebrated Brett's goal like he did, he collapsed and died behind that goal in Cardiff.
Which begs the question, why doesn't he shoot more? His two goals in the 2021 play off final were as good as anything we have scored in a final. the game was never in doubt after them.
