There will be no fee even if he was going to Pompey or someone.
BFC have no obligation to protect the player- if he wants out, he wants out. However, unless his contract has been terminated and BFC are no longer paying his wages (since Dec 1) the player has a professional and moral duty to earn his corn.
It is a sorry affair and although I'm not always a fan of Clubs being open on everything, I think the fans deserve to know the truth, especially as the player was very much a fans favourite.

He was never my favourite Fount's, as you know, he always came across as an right miserable fecker on the club video, dressing room will be a lot better without him. I don't think the club have handed this badly at all. In fact I think it's hilarious he got his 4 minutes in midweek to say goodbye to the fans, all 700 of them that were still in the ground. We will sign younger and better.

Whilst I don’t think we (the fans) have the right to know every single that’s going on at the club, absolutely everything at Blackpool is a secret apparently. Whilst I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of Kenny Dougall I know that I’m in the minority and as such I think that as he’s so popular amongst the majority it would be reasonable to give them some idea as to why he’s not featuring. If he’s injured, he’s injured. If he’s moving on, he’s moving on - but some word from the club would stop people making up their own stories, some of which may be hurtful or damaging if they’re jumping to wrong conclusions. Whatever improvements have been made in the last four years (and there have been many), communication with the fans certainly isn’t one of them.

Kenny scored twice in the play off final but other than that, he's been shot shy.

Kenny has been a massive player for us and we looked 10x better when he came in during the promotion season. It’s a real shame he’s leaving but I wish him the best
If Blackpool has now proved beyond our Ken, I hope that his exit outflanks Critch.

The only time he looked out of his depth was when he was running a Championship midfield on his own
This one thing that bothers me more than anything else in the way we do this now, is the chance to show our appreciation for players.
We all know players come and go; it's part of the industry - so there's no need for the cloak and daggers nonsense.
For all we know, one of his parents is ill, and him getting engaged and moving out there is to be closer to them and to help them know he's settled etc
That's pure guess work: he might have gone and is tripling his salary; quite frankly I don't care.
I do care about replacing him and that's not as easy as some of the disrespectful comments suggest.
If he does go, he goes with my thanks and appreciation.

This is a big thing over here in the US and all this bollocks would make sense if that's where they are going!
NIL = Name, Image Likeness and there is one girl over here who has become a multi-millionaire just because she is hot! The big sports stars from the NFL, NBA etc also rake in millions for their image rights on the various video games that cover their sports. Even the College football players can earn big money before they even get anywhere near NFL.

He’s into the last few years of his career, looks like he’s getting married and appears to have the chance to go earn some decent money in a country where he’s likely got some ties - given he’s Australian/Thai/Scottish.
Even if he’s on similar money in Thailand to what he’s on here he’ll lead a fantastically comfortable lifestyle and I imagine it’s a damn site more appealing playing Asian Champions League football, living in a major multicultural city and likely being a national star than playing League 1 football in Blackpool.
It’s a shame the endings been messy but ultimately whilst the club has a degree of control over the player they don’t over the spouse.
If Kennys kept the club happy and they’ve done what’s been agreed then that’s pretty much it. He’s a player not a fan and doesn’t owe the club anything other than professionalism and there doesn’t seem to be much suggesting he’s been unprofessional.

Bangkok United’s two ‘best’ players are ageing Brazilians reported to be on £7500 a week. According to several online sources Dougall is on £4000 with us. You’d imagine as he’s younger and an international he’d be looking towards nearly doubling his wage to live in a place where it goes a lot further and he has links to. Absolutely no hard feelings, and thanks for the service.

Buriram are the defending Thai league champions and are in the Asian Champions League, with 6 months left I hope the club have gotten a little bit for those remaining 6 months because if we didn’t allow him to leave he would have been very useful to us throughout this promotion push.

Also a much easier trip home to Australia than the 24hrs it takes from the UK ! Likely a footballer and his wife (or anyone for that matter) will enjoy Bangkok and weekend jaunts to Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur as well as summer breaks holidaying in Bali etc over weekends in Manchester and Liverpool and a trip to the Trafford Centre

Kenny got utter Dogs abuse most of last season due to well below par performances much of it from me.
He looks more settled as a league one player which without sounding horrible is more his level.
