Keshi

Has anyone heard where Keshi is now or might end up? Think he felt he was a Champ player but the longer he goes without finding a club do our chances of getting him back improve?

He'll probably prefer to head back south but he's 28 now so he'll be looking to get the best financial deal he can get.

Because he's class when he does play and in this league we can afford to have a luxury in him. I'm not saying this league is easy and we're going up no problem, but it's not the same level as the Championship where you need everyone fit and playing every game.
I agree, in this league a Keshi who plays say 70 - 75% of the games is a huge advantage as opposed to a Keshi in the champ who plays 30- 40% of games. In lg1 Keshi would be a team of the season type player

Good player, great character.

Was out a lot through injury or limited by fasting.

Tough one, not sure if the Club can offer a certain deal to offset the risk, but he'd be handy to have.

Jud had NO offers from any championship club. Only Oxford interested that's a FACT .New clubs hard to find. Too many players available not enough positions.
This is true right now. Players that I thought would be snapped up in the Championship appear to be struggling to find a club at that level.

Like someone else in this thread said, the Championship is going to be really tough this year and clubs don't look willing to take chances like they have been in the past.

I'd take him back, but the deal would have to be right for the club. Maybe a pay as you play type thing which I doubt Keshi would be interested in.

Problem is only 22 registered players, so you can't risk/carry injury risks?

Any know where Stewart ended up, or did he retire?

Not going to comment on the truth or otherwise or any of this, but note that the new FA rules allow Championship clubs to sign 72 players between them from overseas outside the work permit rules. That’s a lot of shirts and contracts that would’ve gone to English players that now won’t.

Plymouth, for one club, have already made use of this …

I think I am right in saying that keepers don’t count towards the squad numbers in League One?
If so being as most clubs would probably have three goalies the numbers are effectively the same as the Championship.
Sign him up if he wants to stay, but if that does happen I would think it will probably be right at the end of the window.

On that basis we better get Kev Stewart signed up. He's way too good for League One when he does play....

We get more games out of Anderson in 1 season than we ever got out of Stewart. Anderson is injury prone, Stewart is made of glass. If Anderson was injured as much as Stewart is then I wouldn't want him at all no matter how good he is.

If we could keep Keshi it is an absolute no brainer to do it. Pay as u play deal maybe but if we got 20 games out of him it puts our chances of promotion up quite a bit. To compare him with Stewart is a bit daft really.

I will say that I thought Albi Morgan would be Keshi replacement so I really don't know what the liklihood of us resigning Keshi is.

Keshi certainly has talent and did ok for us in both L1 and Champs. On his day he is a good asset, ..but..he lacks consistency and he is injury prone imo. Plus he slows the play down for me which I find frustrating. Many on here may disagree. Personally I think it is the right time to let him go and look at younger, fresher, pacier options like Lyons (different position I know) but you get my drift.

When the released list was announced his and Stewart’s names were the first I looked for and I was delighted to see them on there we need players that want to play not spongers

Bridcutt and Stewart were the names I looked for.
If a pay as you play deal was acceptable to Keshi I would resign him

I’d forgot about bridcutt think he only played two games and he was useless in both of those a lot of money wasted on crocks last season all three were dead wood

I'd take him back in a heart beat, I did doubt that he would find a Championship club due to injury. The championship this year is going to be as tight as I can ever remember it being so I doubt too many clubs will be looking to take a risk on a player that bearly plays.
Absolutely, class player, knows everyone here and is a great bloke to have around the squad. I'd love to see him back fit and firing on all cylinders. Top, top player for L1.
