Kevin Stewart in Jamaica Squad

I’ll try to stay positive and hope this means that Jamaica have been told he’ll be ready for action very soon.
Otherwise it’s a piss take.

If he's fit enough to play for them and doesn’t get injured in the process! it's good news for us.

All the work that goes into getting him back fit and the wages spent and he saunters off to play for his country. If he comes back injured its the biggest piss take ever. I used to moan about players withdrawing from international duty but i suppose you can see why managers get the hump.

He's not been mentioned on the soon to return injured people, so I don’t get his inclusion.

Unless they know hes always injured are just bringing him just in case.

But he can't play if he's not right, as it'll only set him back further.

Very odd stuff.

Tbf I think he's back on the grass

He should be ready by the start of the competition, even if only to be a bit part, doesn’t surprise me, it’s not like they have loads of options to choose from 😊

Nice bit of sun out in the Caribbean sounds like a plan, play the first 20 mins hobble off injured and its beach time😎

If only there was a way to retire from club football and only be an international player, it would suit Stewart perfectly.

Few games every few months, spending the break in-between with whatever injury he has picked up.

MLS?

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up over there.

I reckon who offers anything but pay as you play are complete fools, he has had far too many pay checks whilst sat in the stands every week.

He has been at BFC 20 months…Appeared in 28 games totalling Approx 20 full games in minutes…so far
Let’s say 3k per week x 80 weeks = 240k..divide by 20 games = £ 12k per game…not a good return.

According to a Matt Scranton tweet today he's 'miles away' from playing for Blackpool and yet I thought his return was imminent!!

Really ? His commitment should to be to get fit and then return to playing for the club that has paid his salary for the spell that he has been here. He's been injured for 80% of it !
His previous injury was picked up on international duty. Don't the relevant FA pay his wages in that scenario?

However, The Gazette understands that was an oversight on the behalf of the Jamaican FA and the 29-year-old won’t be linking up with the Reggae Boyz squad for their upcoming friendly against Argentina.

Addressing the unexpected call-up, Appleton added: “The irony behind is that I was actually in the gym with him on Thursday having a chat with him.

“He certainly looks strong and healthy in that environment but he’s still a million miles away from being able to kick a ball at the minute.”

What he meant was, he’s nine months pay away from being able to kick a ball.
