Staying at a Premier league club is what many of these youngsters do and they don't seem to realise how much time they're wasting.
KDH is 22 years old and has 10 league appearances to his name. To me, for a player of his ability that's criminal and I don't think these clubs are treating these players fairly. They string them along by offering hope they'll make the first team, just in case they come good. Meanwhile, the player is already wasting years of a short career. The players also need to be bolder and make decisions that gives them actual league football to help them develop instead of playing at it in a development squad.

I really hope he makes it and it works out for him, but at his age and with his ability he should be far more experienced than he is.

Spot on, the problem with the game right there.

Luke Garbutt is a prime example of a talented youngster being strung along by a premier league club. He really should have a few years ago and he may well have had a much better career to date as a result.

100%.

For all those that lauded Liverpool recent business of making money just think about that: 22 years old and 10 games.

It's a monopoly far worse than the TV money debate ongoing at the moment. And the real reason we are moving to PL reserve teams being in the pyramid.

Yes exactly. Instead of trying to shoe-horn these development squads into competitive football, they should be restricting the number of kids a club can sign. It would be far more beneficial for the game because right now you have hundreds of talented youngster languishing in the reserves, and they only start getting competitive football when approaching mid twenties.

If you think he’s been on 28k a week you’re deluded.

Signed a 5 year contract in 2015 at 28K a week. This is widely reported. Am I deluded or are you uneducated?
You know what, I'll admit I'd done zero research before calling you deluded as £28k p/w on a 5 year deal is so utterly ridiculous it sounded 100% false....but you know what....from a quick google it appears you're right. So I apologise. The Premier League is sheer madness.

He’s a player an a half. Exactly the type of player we should have been signing under Holloway.
Talented beyond our recent league status.

Also worth remembering he came because of Larry’s contacts and you wonder if that connection was spewed as soon as we ditched Larry!
