Whether you are pro( and I am ) monarchy or not perhaps you should take the trouble to actually listen to what he said.In a world ( and certainly not just here) of many nasty, incompetent, self centred, if not violent ,narcissistic and hypocritical politicians and so called leaders here was someone who tried to send out a message of hope for everyone.

We recorded it, as we were eating our Christmas Dinner at the time of the broadcast, so we watched it later on and thought he spoke well and came across as caring about his role and the country.

I am ambivalent about the Monarchy, particularly now the Queen has gone.

I thought he spoke well, hit exactly the right notes regarding what real people in the UK, not the Westminster "elite", are concerned about.
